Ditto, other than using mapmyrun instead of Strava - love the vivoactive especially since I play a bit of golf as well.

I've used it for golf and cycling as well, and have a hrm linked to it. Like the step count feature as well, and the smart notifications are handy. Solid all round watch.

I use Map My Run on the phone, it's usually more accurate than Strava although Strava segments are good and Strava is linked into the Parkrun. I wear my phone on my wrist anyway when running so a good big screen to check the stats and so on.

Did a 5.5 miler today in just under 42.30 so happy with the pace, a 200ft elevation on the run too.

I'm also a Strava user, I'm not sure if this will take off but no harm in trying. I've setup a Strava group to hopefully keep motivation up and give out kudos: https://www.strava.com/clubs/pieandbovril

Good idea. I've joined and invited those I have on strava from here as well. I fully expect to be the slowest on there, certainly for the next 2 months or so until I can start focusing on speed work after London.

Nice one, I've joined, generally use Map my Run but update Strava as well.

parkrun for me this morning ,23.07 so not bad but need to get under 23 mins more, only managed it twice and my pb is 22;17 so kind of feel I'm not getting the best out of me regular enough.

A rare foray to Victoria parkrun for me this morning. The alternate (slightly longer - circa 30m or so) course was used due to puddles. Tbh there was no real need for this, it wasn't that bad!

Anyway, I got around in 17'56", which was only good enough for 12th place in a strong field. Relatively pleased with the time - it was 15 seconds outside pb, which equates to about 7 or 8 seconds taking into account the additional distance.

I have been averaging 60-70km a week this year, but I am going to cut that down now, with more quality speed work and less general running. Going to get back to Spin as well, as I am getting a bit bored of just running and core work.

Thanks for setting this up mate - I am a member of several groups and it is always interesting to compare what you are doing to others and to support each other via kudos and comments.

I made it out to Victoria Parkrun this morning too.  First Parkrun this year, got round in 19:56 which is about 20s outside my PB, but as you said that was over the slightly longer course (though it still measures short of the 5k by my watch!) and it also involved a quick pit stop on lap 3 to retie a shoelace that had worked its way loose.

Overall I'm reasonably happy with that.  I've been concentrating more on upping my mileage than pace since the last time I ran a 5k, thankfully the knee problem I suffered with at Alloa seems to have all but disappeared and stood up well to the first test at pace today.  The plan is to test it with some serious distance tomorrow and if it holds up to that I'll only have lost a week off my Edinburgh training plan.

Good run mate. The distance issue is due to signal issues at some parts of the course. It does measure 5k (well 5.03-5.04km today), but the GPS tracking in the fossil grove is poor and courses with lots of turns always measure short due to the way GPS tracks.

I had a shoe lace issue at parkrun today too, ark.  Didn't matter so much for my time, my body increasingly seems to grudge getting up on a Saturday morning.  I'm running a leg in the national road relays for my club tomorrow, so that's my excuse for putting in a bit of a rubbish time by my usual standards.  Hoping to make it out later in the evening tomorrow too, with giving an iffy knee a bit of a rest midweek.

Sounds like a good morning for our parkrunners otherwise!

Thanks for setting up the group, Kenzie.  That's me signed up too; I like having a nose at what others are up to.  I'm another one linking it via Garmin (the 110 for me, though I'm dying for an excuse to upgrade).

Was run director at parkrun today - really enjoyed it, even if it was pretty scary getting up in front of 170-ish runners for the run briefing etc!

Great parkrun for me this morning, 18:53 at Portobello for a best at the course and a best time this year. Feeling good for the Grangemouth 10k next week.

The football may also be adding to my good mood this evening...

This injury is the worst I've ever had. Not in the sense of giving me pain or stopping me doing things, but just because it's so easy to aggravate it - Friday morning was the best it had been for ages, but then I briefly forgot about it and tweaked it again by turning round too quickly. That'll be another week or two then...

I said last year that, inspired by Reina's efforts, I'd like to have a go at a triathlon some time. So trying to be positive about it, I'm looking at all this time spent swimming over the last few weeks as preparation for that. I can't swim properly yet as that aggravates it as well, but a ridiculous looking modfication with my knees clamped together lets me get up and down the pool. Did 60 lengths yesterday and the same today, and for the first time felt able to really push it today - nice to get that feeling again that you get after a hard running session.

That's a belter; bodes well.

Road relay went well enough yesterday. Ended up running a long leg, which I hadn't been keen on, but dragged my arse round in 37:09 for 9.3k on a hilly course. I was on the last leg and it was a pretty lonely run for a race. Quite happy with it, couldn't have done any more.

That's some time you're having of it, Socks. Here's hoping it clears up soon.

Where's the fun in that? Muddy trails are the way to go, all the more challenging without trail shoes! ;)

When I was in Dumbarton AAC in my early teens, I was a sprinter/high jumper and I used to get a nosebleed if they asked my to help amass points in the Scottish and NW league by running anything over 400m.

Strangely however, I used to love cross country.  Was complete shite at it, but just loved running round the muddy courses.  Ayrshire had some complete b*****ds of courses, Stewarton in particular springs to mind.
