I think the new format is unnecessary.In the current climate where England are already struggling for good red ball players, it's madness to me to have both the Hundred and the T20 Blast. The county championship season keeps getting squeezed into a tighter schedule every year. Imo they should have scrapped the Blast and gone with the franchises in T20 form too.You can have a T20 franchise league and a T20 competition IMO. Not all countries do it, but some do. For example, India has the IPL and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy both at T20 comps. It also fits in the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy in their season.
