Latino Lover
IPL on ITV4 is a godsend on dull days off work, getting well into it now. And the Indian presenter
Yoss
Back to the proper cricket then ... England squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka to be announced in the morning. The word seems to be that Bopara will get the nod over Morgan to replace Collingwood. There's some doubt about who will be the fourth seamer - Finn, Shahzad or Onions - with Bresnan injured. But assuming Anderson, Broad and Tremlett are all fit then whoever it is won't play anyway. So if the pundits are right about Bopara the team is straightforward: Strauss, Cook, Trott, Pietersen, Bell, Bopara, Prior, Broad, Swann, Tremlett, Anderson
Yoss
The pundits were wrong, they've gone for Morgan, with Finn as the extra seamer. I'm not convinced by Morgan as a first-class player yet, but good luck to him.
MB
The pundits were wrong, they've gone for Morgan, with Finn as the extra seamer. I'm not convinced by Morgan as a first-class player yet, but good luck to him. I'm also far from convinced by Morgan, but am even less so about Bopara. Morgan is tougher mentally and now has an opportunity to cement his place in the side. I think this will be a tough series for England, followed by an even harder one later in the summer. We'll have a far better idea where England stand as a test side after this summer. I can't help but think that defeating an average Australian side may have given some people the impression that England are world beaters. I'm not yet convinced, but would love to be so over the next few months.
drs
What MB said, Morgan is certainly a talent - whether thats a 5 day talent we shall see but he's still a far better option than Bopara. I've got tickets for the Sri Lanka one day game at Leeds and days 1 and 2 of the India test at Birmingham. roll on the summer.
Bobby Skidmarks
I would have preferred to have seen Bopara have a run in the side at number 6 to see how he performs with the pressure off. The guy IMO is more talented than Morgan at Test Cricket but hasn't really performed. I would hate to see him wasted at test level a la Mark Ramprakash. Also, he's pretty handy with the ball. edit- spelling mistake Edited May 22, 2011 by Bobby Skidmarks -
Savage Henry
Not entirely sure what Finn has done wrong. I'd pick him over Tremlett, especially as Bresnan is out. Onions had a great couple of games against Australia, but I guess his injury problems have done for him.

Bobby Skidmarks
i would have finn and tremlett before anderson Neither could reverse swing the ball as accurately as Anderson. Anderson would be my first bowler on a team sheet for a match in England/Wales -

Savage Henry
Have to laugh at Boycott's temerity on the most recent TMS podcast. The gist of his opinion - Trott scored too slowly. It takes some balls to be that hypocritical and get away with it.
berwick-the-unbeatable
For anyone listening on the internet I recommend www.testmatchsofa.com. More amusing than the real TMS. Listening now, just got 'Are you kidding me, we've just waited through two overs for Ian Bell to get two fucking runs'

Ivo den Bieman
One of the most bizarre test matches ever played. Tediously grinds towards a draw for four days and SL swept away completely.

Cowden til i die
Time for Englands bowling attack to consist of Tremlett, Finn, Anderson and Swann. Edit: Or Onions. Forgot about him. Guest The Phoenix
The form of Broad and Strauss must be worrying with India coming up. Why? Plenty of options for Broad's slot and Strauss is too good not to re-find his form.
