As someone tweeted in to TMS earlier, all 11 England batsmen need to channel their inner Geoffrey. Thought India got it wrong at the start tbh, I expected them to get spin on right from the start with a lot of bodies around the bat.
jmothecat
Cook lucky there I thought. Looked out to me.

jmothecat
India lose both of their reviews when both were probably out.
jmothecat
Umpire's call, could have just as easy have gone the other way. Umpire's call is a tricky one. Obviously needed for the margin of error but I can see why India are frustrated by both decisions.

Have to agree with Botham that if you use a review and an umpire's call decision goes against you then you shouldn't lose the review.

I think there's definitely an argument for that but then it might increase the use of frivolous reviews. I suppose the review is theoretically there for 'the howler', rather than when you think 'well it might be out so I'll review'.

But as Botham says if it is still clearly wrong, e.g in these two cases the ball was clearly missing the stumps or impact was outside the line then you would still lose them, i don't think you can brand it as frivolous when a different umpire could easily have give both of them out. Hameed goes lbw.
Bully Wee Villa
I'd be happy if they got the review back when it's umpire's call. You should only lose it when the review is definitely wrong. Annoying to have lost a wicket with ten overs left to play. Getting to the close with none down would've been a good psychological boost.
peasy23
Yep, Cook and Hameed had done brilliantly so far, Hameed especially early on when they were trying to rough him up with some short stuff.
Bearwithme
You can't blame Hameed who got one that pretty much shot along the ground. 75-1.

peasy23
Huge boost for India right at the end. Duckett is already under pressure and now has a full night to sleep on being in at the start tomorrow.
jmothecat
That wicket has given India a huge boost. Needed Cook to have a chance tomorrow I think. Stokes and Bairstow are very useful but I'm not sure if this is their situation, this is Cook's territory. 90 overs, eight wickets.

peasy23
5 down now, Stokes bowled by a beauty of a ball by Jayant, Moeen also out.
peasy23
Root out lbw to Shami, this might not even last until lunch.
peasy23
142-7 at lunch, 5 wickets for 55 runs in that session.
mjw
there is something in the pitch for the bowlers though.
