Japan would have beaten us with a full weeks rest, like we had imo.
Gianfranco
Japan’s defence was that good it seemed like they had extra players on the park. I kept thinking there must be space out wide but there didn’t seem to be. I’m now supporting Japan for the rest of the tournament.
DeeTillEhDeh
Japan absolutely deserve that. Even if we had somehow come back, there is no way they shouldn't have got through based on their first 3 1/2 matches. Absolutely well doneShat the bed vs Ireland and in the first half here.Too many passengers in that team.Russell had a really awful competition.
Pepper
Constantly giving the ball back to a Japan team that make near no errors was great tactical play.
Acastus
Credit to Japan they deserved it and they will take some stopping. They beat Ireland and us while we lost to both of them...SHITE!!
FuzzyBear
I dont watch much rugby but I was surprised at how far Japan were ahead of us. They looked quicker, fitter, far better organised and more creative.

Mark Connolly
Let's take the positive here. New Zealand are going to absolutely ruin Ireland as a result of that game..
Highlandmagyar 2nd Tier
It's now got the level that as long as we dont get the wooden spoon in the 6 nations we are doing OK. Scottish sport? Hahaha. -
honestly united
The dreadfull kicking was obviously Townsends game plan, for that alone he should go. If we had kept ball in had we would have at lease had a chance, but giveing them posesion was brutal. His choice of players in the squad was also poor

DeeTillEhDeh
We seem to rely far too much on kicking - instead of building up possession we just give it away.Felt we had no plan to combat the fast Japanese hands. When we did get the ball it was very static - balls thrown behind the players or, if a player did make a run, he was on his own and surrounded by Japanese players.

It's actually become unfashionable to just run onto the ball at full pelt, but it's still the most effective way of going forward

BucksburnDandy
Both our national teams are continual failures since the Millennium. Nothing changes with either. Can't defend 20 years of failure. Same with the football. 21 years of failure. The media really need to go after both associations properly. My Irish partner nailed it when she said it's pretty embarrassing to be a Scottish sports fan right now. Ireland aren't good at most things but at least they have the odd success. Scotland fans literally have nothing to cling on to. Harsh words but fair
sjc
Is this the equivalent of 1990 in football terms where Scotland stopped regularly qualifying for the World Cup finals?!
