When I was over there it was easy to get tickets for Club Brugge but difficult to get them for Anderlecht and Standard without a membership. Gent is infinitely better than Brugge as a city. I once went through Brugge on a Eurolines coach and a nice lady sitting in a window waved at me...

We managed to get tickets quite easily for the derby on Sunday once we had registered with Club Brugge, however, we couldn't get tickets for Antwerp v Liege on the Saturday. As @PSJ.84 says, getting food or drink inside the ground was a bit of a hassle. Enjoyed both Bruges and Antwerp, but did like the look of Gent going through it on the train.

Andy groundhopper
Rothes 0 Fraserburgh 3 two cracking strikes from the no.9 worth the £10 to get in. Straightforward, the visitors brighter all round and a constant threat. Rothes didnt seem interested, rarely getting anyone forward until subs brought some life into the 2nd half, and made the gk work for his money.
Jute
Spartans 1-2 Peterhead. Decent game between two teams that are in the promotion play off places. First half was pretty even but Peterhead managed to go in 1 ahead. Spartans were much the better team in the second half and got back on level terms with a free kick that the Peterhead keeper seemed to think was going wide. Spartans pressed for the winner but Peterhead got the winner against the run of play with a fine finish from Hamish Ritchie. Over 500 in attendance. An Eejit Abroad
Northern Virginia 0-1 Christos; Att: ~88 US Open Cup fourth qualifying round tie between Northern Virginia of Leesburg, Virginia and Christos of Baltimore, Maryland. The game was played at Segra Park, home of second tier Loudoun United. Both teams have been among the best amateur clubs in the country in recent times but this was a bit of a scrappy one. The officiating didn’t help. Christos now go into the draw for the first round proper of the 2024 tournament which will be played in March. This is the first time I’ve managed all of the qualifying rounds of the Open Cup. The dream of getting to every round of the 2024 version is still alive but they’ve announced that all games for the rest of the tournament will be played midweek. So I’ll need the localish teams to me to go on some good runs and even then I can already see a midweek in May where I’m probably going to be unable to get to a game due to work. We’ll see how it goes. Edited November 19, 2023 by An Eejit Abroad
Marten
Hibs Women 2-1 Hearts Women Yesterday I went to Easter Road for the women's Edinburgh Derby. As I went with a Hearts-fan I know, I went with her to the away end. That only my second "random" match in Scotland I've been in an away end, after being in the Ibrox away end with Motherwell when doing the 42 (and the only other times I've been in any Scottish away end was at Hampden for Scotland v The Netherlands). There was a great turnout of nearly 5,400. The main stand was pretty full, a very decent Hearts following around me, and the East stand had a fair few people as well. The game was decent. The first half there were a few chances, but no goals. Hibs scored early in the second half, not much later they scored a second and it looked like the game was over. However, Hearts didn't give up and scored with 15 minutes left. They put up a good fight to try to equalise but Hibs held out to claim what was ultimately a deserved derby win. This also makes Easter Road the first stadium in Scotland with stands on all 4 sides where I've actually attended a game in each stand. Nice nerdy stat for a geek like me. DiegoDiego
Mauritanian Super D1 Nouakchott Kings 0-1 Nouadhibou Gendrim 1-0 Tevragh-Zeina Caught a couple of games while I was in Nouakchott. There were six games at the same stadium over three days, 40p each. Not a bad central stadium, decent enough size. Most important was the plastic pitch which allowed for far better football to be played than on Senegal's grass of varying length. Unfortunately the skill level wasn't up to it, and I'd expect to see a team like Pollok pick up points in this league were it not for the heat. Nouadhibou are champions and top of the league and deserved the win but there wasn't a lot between the teams. It was more notable as the first game I've seen refereed by a female, never thought that would happen here. The second match I saw was a couple of days later and only had about 300 in attendance compared to the previous match's 1,500 or so. Gendrim are the team of the police and they actually had a bit of a young team, who were the worst drummers I've ever been subjected to, though they did attempt a "Rednyellaarmy" for me at half time, which was barely recognisable but much appreciated. In retrospect "Nouakchott's a shitehole, I want to go home." may have been more apt. Can't complain for 40p, and it's always good to see a new league. Andy groundhopper
Bught Park for Highland under 18's : Clach 1 Lossie 2 att 50+ and a few dogs. Decent game with plenty of youthful energy see's 01 shot goes through the gk hands. 11 tap in after gk spills a shot. 12 'Noah' cuts in from left and arrows a shot into far corner - then a celebratory slide in front of opposing dug-out/ subs , resulting in 2nd yellow. Lossie already down to ten men after harsh red as player slid into a tackle (good challenge in my day) Some decent players on show.

So also headed to Spartans.
oneteaminglasgow
Not attending, but I’m watching St Lucia v Sint Maarten on the Concacaf YouTube - the commentator is on another fucking planet. It’s like they’ve just got some old guy along to share a stream of consciousness. Just wanted to share this somewhere.

Sint Maaten just hit the cross bar from 45 yards as the striker tried to chip the goalie. Would've been a cracker. Similar to Frederico Demarco's goal last week. I don't have Viaplay so can't watch Scotland

I'm enjoying this more than having to listen to Ian Crocker or Sam Matterface etc.. The game is fairly decent for its albeit, very low standard.
