stonedsailor
I normally have sympathy for players in these situations, but these unambitious, ignorant cretins deserve all they get. Mercenaries, all of them. Did anyone think they'd take a pay cut? All the new ones are on long contracts and big bucks too all they need to do is cruise through the next three or four years and they can retire in comfort. 'Mon the mercs.
Johnny van Axeldongen
I'm listening to Clyde Superscoreboard right now and keep checking the date down in the system tray to see if I've gone back in time.
AberdeenBud
Jon Daly for example. A contract for one season was on the table at Tannadice I'm told, but he wanted the security of a longer deal at Ibrox. Exactly. Cammy Bell and Nicky Law both turned down numerous multi season offers to take the Sevco coin, IIRC. Surely the alarm bells should've been ringing?
Fife Saint
From Phil madeupname who predicted this last year.. "Rangers are in now Administration in everything but name." This was said to me by a senior person in a SPFL championship club today. To be fair, it's a fairly throwaway comment. Indeed the actions taking place today ought to be commended in any other business. It's just fucking hilarious when it's this shower and their fake made-up club.

You'd think, but the players will just do whatever their agents tell them a lot of the time.
AberdeenBud
You'd think, but the players will just do whatever their agents tell them a lot of the time. I'd be looking at changing agents if I was a member of the Sevco Globetrotters right now. Edited January 16, 2014 by AberdeenBud

Savage Henry
To be fair, it's a fairly throwaway comment. Indeed the actions taking place today ought to be commended in any other business. It's just fucking hilarious when it's this shower and their fake made-up club. I once wrote a piece for my own website in which I called McMadeupName a blowhard with a woe-is-me-agenda. He's obviously gone around googling himself, because, never having tweeted him in my life - or even knowing he had a Twitter account - he's blocked me! I love the "but but but Dave King" line that's being spun now. In less than two years, they've learned not a thing. Paying £6million a year on a playing staff in the third tier of Scottish football ought to be a prosecutable offence.
Stu
If they do go into administration again they'll still cruise the league after the penalty. Almost as if it's deliberate...
weirdcal
What would the points deduction be though ? 25 points with 10 suspended. Given the shitebags at sfa not wanting a new club / continuation debate

Romeo
Some bed time reading from Rangermedia http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=263940&st=40 seems to be a mix of people shitting it and others telling people not to panic.
Jambomo
25 points with 10 suspended. Given the shitebags at sfa not wanting a new club / continuation debate Can't see any of the clubs being happy with that - either they make it clear thy are a new club and give them 15 points or say they are the same and get 25. It will have an impact on the league so they can't have half measures or compromises or the rows will go on for ever!
AberdeenBud
It’s maybe a good idea to give Mr Custard a heads up to expect a flurry of donations.

Broken Algorithms
I can understand why the players would accept the contracts. The money on offer will dwarf anything from their old clubs, playing in front of bigger crowds every second week with promises of strengthening at the top tier. They've been naive, but as had been pointed out agents will have an influence. As for the whole situation, I'd love to say "Hate to say we told you so", but I wouldn't hate it in the slightest: I'd fucking relish it. I'd love for this to turn into a catastrofuck to see their fans meltdown again. People of P&B, take a bow though. Pretty much everyone lined up to tell them they'd go bust with Rangers: They did. Everyone lined up to tell the media there would be no Armageddon: Top tier attendences went up again with restructuring to keep the fans happy. So it isn't a surprise that we said "If they keep on spending silly money on top tier players for the bottom tier, they'll find themselves in trouble again".
