  1. Sounds very strange. When you say site, does the homepage load for you? https://www.pieandbovril.com When you access the forum via Safari on Wi-Fi, what happens? Any error message?
  2. Him and his wife were in a pretty bad car crash last October.
  3. I'd really like the SFA to pick a few incidents in games and release the audio of the conversation between the referee and the VAR team, in the same way that they have started doing in England. It would be educational for supporters to see and hear how decisions are arrived at, and also give a level of transparency that should at least breed a little bit of trust in the system. I don't think they will, but they absolutely should!
  4. I don’t think the “clear and obvious” mantra applies to offside decisions to be fair. Its a binary decision, player is either offside or he’s not and the technology in this case has dictated that Greive was offside. I think what has caused part of the confusion is that the other Hearts defender in the still photo who appears to be playing Greive on (ie not the one that the defensive line was drawn on) is actually off the ground at the time the still image was taken. It is a sickener because it was so very close but I think in this case we just need to accept that it was probably the right call. What annoys me far more is the Mandron goal being chopped. There is clearly no foul at all, the defender slips, allowing Mandron through. Walsh has decided it’s a foul which is fine, he gets a split second to see it, but surely to fuck VAR have to look at that and see it very much is a clear and obvious error and ask the referee to take another look at it? Walsh would be perfectly entitled to look at it again and stick by his decision if he still deemed it a foul but why the fuck he wasn’t given that opportunity is completely beyond me. That for me was a far worse decision than the offside one.
  5. The clubs agreed a compromise on his development fee, but as usual we retain a sell on which everyone hopes will bring in a decent bounty further down the line. David Longwell is at Burnley, hence the interest.
  6. Jim Goodwin was on a zoom call Q&A with SMiSA members and someone asked him about the vacant Aberdeen job and he said he had no interest and was building something special in Paisley. 3 days later he had the red and white scarf above his head Its a fickle game, I don’t blame any manager for taking as much money as he can get when times are good.
  7. As of 2pm this afternoon there had been zero contact between Hibs and St.Mirren regarding Robinson. That's not to say it won't come, if Hibs are doing their job properly then of course he has to be a serious contender. If he goes it will be a major blow, I don't think there can be any debate about that. Definitely think I'd be offering the gig to Darmuid as first choice if it did happen though, an absolute no brainer if he is interested in being a number 1.
  8. There is absolutely no substance at all in the Baccus/Aberdeen story btw. And that came from the best possible source
  9. I hate that VAR has now made me second guess whether a goal we have just scored is going to stand. You lose yourself in that moment, like you always have, then you start staring at the referee, waiting for his finger going up to his ear. It’s fucking horrible. That said, it IS swings and roundabouts. We’ve had a couple decisions go against us recently that were inconclusive (the Dundee goal and this double touch) which is frustrating but end of the day the officials can’t just guess, if the cameras they have available don’t clearly show evidence that contradicts the decision the on field referee has made them they can’t intervene. That’s just something we need to live with and whether there are alternative views from “fan cams” that seem to prove the point we want to make is fairly irrelevant. We wouldn’t have got the penalty at Easter Road without VAR being there so it’s not all been bad news for us. Concentrate instead on the fact that we comprehensively played Aberdeen off the park on Sunday instead, the team that finished 3rd last season and a team with a playing budget 3 or 4 times the one we have. Every chance we will play worse than that at times this season and yet win the game.
  10. The stadium looked fantastic on Sunday. It’s such an enjoyable place to go right now and the atmosphere is just tremendous when it’s near full and both sets of fans are going at it during an entertaining game like we saw vs Aberdeen. Very hard to remember the dull, grey soulless breeze block place it was for the first few seasons after we moved. The West Bank obviously deserve great credit for all that they have done as do the Marching In group and Colin Brights team who do so much before (and during) the game to keep the kids entertained. A proper buzz about the club and long may it continue.
  11. The double touch thing is a black & white decision (excuse the pun) so like the offside calls he wouldn’t have been asked to review it, just told yay or nay.
  12. Every visiting team gets the same stand and same number of seats when they come to Paisley
  13. I’ve spoken to Oran a couple of times since he left. Always good chat and reckons he could write an incredible book about his year at Saints. Hopefully he gets round to that at some point!
  14. I sent him a message after reading this mate, he’s been in touch. He’s absolutely fine, but not been back to the club since they dicked him around over wages.
  15. Excellent tackle by Dunne, but what the fuck is Paul McGinn doing?
  16. Can’t see anything wrong with the Dunne challenge. Clearly got the ball. McGinn’s looks far worse!
  17. How did we not score here 879115A7-A249-4C51-8E3E-43764ACF3393.mov
  18. BBC don’t have any rights to the League Cup mate, even for highlights. Hopefully the club will put some out today on their socials.
  19. It’s now 18 years since Motherwell last beat Saints in a cup competition. We’ve met in 5 ties in that period (3 x Scottish and 2 x League Cup), with Saints winning the lot.
  20. The scoreline does us little justice, we battered Motherwell today. We’re a joy to watch at home, nobody is going to relish a visit to Paisley this season. If we can hang on to everyone, have a bit of luck with injuries, and improve our points return on the road then this could be a very special season. PS; Mark O’Hara was in the 1877 before the game and he expects to be involved in the squad next weekend.
  21. We're really on the verge of something really quite special. Before the season began..... Richard Taylor, CBM and Zach Hemming were all supposed to be bit part players and/or downgrades on what we had. Tanser was the weak point in the the team and Toyosi was a joke.... Yet those five were all absolutely outstanding today, in our sixth consecutive win. WHAT A CLUB.
  22. Another game defining moment from Zach Hemming on an afternoon when as a team we barely put a foot wrong. Only valid criticism is that it should have been more. What a team
  23. I take everything Robbo says to the media with a massive punch of salt to be honest. Even if the much discussed extra striker doesn’t materialise there is no chance we go into the period to January with just one left wing back in the squad. On that note Tanser has been brilliant so far this season, one player who very seldom gets the credit he deserves.
  24. Think because the Dundee player ended up on the floor it probably caught the eye more than a run of the mill shirt pull would have. It was definitely a penalty, silly stuff from Mandron.
