  1. Hmmm, that photo Dunc posted is very similar to the lad that came on, and he played centre mid.
  2. I'll be devastated if Grantie leaves, one of my favourite Rovers players of the past decade.
  3. Rovers have really stepped up their social media game, keeps everyone interested and is actually engaging. Whoever does it does a fine job.
  4. Good move for Watson that, quite happy for him. Did well for us and is a player I would've definitely kept. Best of luck to him.
  5. Looking at the team we're assembling, it looks increasingly likely that we'll be playing 4-2-3-1. Currently, I think I'd go with: McGurn Thomson Benedictus Barr McKeown Callachan McCord Anderson Vaughan Megginson Stewart/Wighton Wighton is still only 17, is that correct? Don't think we can be expecting too much from him every week. Clearly the lad has got quality, but he'll likely be hot and cold so I think Stewart will start ahead of him, to begin with anyway. I don't know much about Toshney or Benedictus, I can't say I remember them playing against us, so that's pretty much an unknown. Hoping Barr is fit for the start of the season, I've seen him in the gym a good few times recently, looks like he's training pretty hard so hopefully his groin sorts itself out in time. I'm quietly optimistic about us this year, having a young, quick side should hopefully be better to watch, clearly something McKinnon is going for.
  6. I'm pretty disappointed that we aren't covering the price of the operation, what sort of message does that send to our players?
  7. I think that's what Elliott is complaining about? That we refused it?
  8. We should be paying for his operation, no doubt about it.
  9. I'd say Nade was a 'marquee signing' for us. Was probably on a huge wage and didn't really do all that much. I'm happy with McKinnon's signings, all of them have a point to prove and will be hungry for success which is more than can be said for the majority of the squad last year.
  10. I'm with you, pretty pleased with all the signings so far. Also pleased that our wage budget with definitely have a big chunk remaining to bring in a 40 goals a season striker before pre season starts.
  11. Paul Watson currently out on the Hibs end of season day out. A sign?
  12. Also pretty impressed my Trevor Sinclair rumour made it to The Sun.
  13. Now that McKinnon has pretty much been confirmed, I now feel comfortable saying that Gary Naysmith had all but signed the paper early last week. He attended a board meeting were he was told that the job was pretty much his, but the board changed their mind at the last minute due to the fan reaction. I'm not sure how I feel about the board pandering to our every whim. I think we were all in agreement that fan power got Davy McGurn his new contract, and that's definitely a good thing, but football fans are generally idiots. I'd rather Eric and co. made the decisions as it's been proven time and again that they do know what's best for our club.
  14. Believe it or not, Ray McKinnon isn't a Rovers fanatic and isn't falling over himself to get the pen in his hand. He's doing the correct thing, taking his time and keeping his options open. I'll be happy if it is him, but at the same time wouldn't be gutted if he takes the St Mirren gig - it's a better option certainly. I'll be 100% behind whoever we appoint, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he - whoever it may be - brings to the table.
  15. Aye? That's a strange one, probably got excellent contacts within the game, though.
  16. I want to financially back the club in some way or another but as I work almost every Saturday I can't really justify spending the £220 on a seasons brief. Might have to go and buy a shit load of end of season stock from the club shop or something.
  17. It's Dave's run to the second save that gets me, fucking glorious.
