  1. DHD-Craigie Hill in Perth. Offer on for £170 a year for under 30s. Not bad at all!
  2. As mentioned above, surely these pay cuts just put them on a break even footing allowing them to complete their fixtures. As the administrators have a responsibility to get the best possible outcome for creditors, where will the money come from to satisfy the huge debt, bearing in mind the big tax case is still to come.
  3. BBC Scotland's James Cook says: "About to hear statement from #Rangers' administrators. Sounds like issues remain unresolved tonight. #RFC"
  4. I'm at home all day today. Don't know if my popcorn, jelly and ice cream supplies will last the day...
  5. Nothing much in today's papers re:new revelations. Hopefully the calm before the storm.
  6. Dragging up a six month old thread but its pretty relevant (to me at least!) Took up golf again last year after a ten-year break. Managed to buy a reasonable set of used clubs (King Cobra irons, Titelist 3 and 5 woods) off eBay for a remarkble price of £50 (including stand bag, balls etc). Couple of sessions at the driving range and played my first round last June at the North Inch in Perth - shot a 127. Managed to get down to a best round of 106 by the end of the summer but wasn't happy with the way I was hitting off the tee at all. Spent literally 15 minutes with driving range pro a couple of weeks back and with a couple of simple tips he had me hitting the ball far more consistently in a straight line. Can't recommend that kind of tuition enough, it has been a massive help. I joined a club in Perth, went out for my first round of the year a couple of weeks ago and hit a 99, which was much better obviously! Definitely plan on another couple of lessons in the next couple of weeks and hopefully get that score down further this year. Anyway, my question for the P&B golfing masses is regarding clubs. As I said, I bought a used set which are fine, although I'm told they could do with being regripped, and I suspect they are at least a few years old so I'm considering replacing at least the woods. Any recommendations for someone like myself? Not wanting to spend an absolute fortune but I'm not aiming at the cheap and cheerful end of the market. I tend to mostly hit my 3 and 5 woods from the tee because I'm hopeless with the (admittedly cheap and cheerful) driver I have, but would also like to invest in that club as well!
  7. Surely there is some legal recourse though Nizzy? Surely you can't just walk away from a liability that big - bigger than all the assets owned by the club. If it was possible then companies everywhere would operate in the exact same manner and just walk away from their debts.
  8. Mike Edwards from STV News is suggesting on Twitter that the HMRC administration move does not have anything to do with the "big" tax case potential judgement... So does that mean that that debt will be heaped on top should Rangers lose?
  9. HibeeJibee has pointed out a Scotsman piece on potential penalties for Rangers if it goes badly for them (15 points off for next three seasons, no Europe). The question is could Rangers as they stand actually recover from that? They'd have to sack most of their players to get the wage bill right down. With no Europe there will be no massive income from big Euro nights at Ibrox. Also, what happens to their season ticket sales that have been mortgaged to Ticketus? Does that debt disappear allowing them to bring in cash from season tickets going forward, or will they still have to service at least a proportion of that debt. Or will the ticket cash go straight to servicing a CVA? What I'm getting at is what kind of cashflow will the new Rangers have? Will they be able to afford to assemble a team that can challenge right at the top of the league, especially if they might have 15 points to make up every year, particularly with no European cash and potentially limited gate income. The worst case scenario, IMO, for Scottish football would be Rangers to escape with a 10 point deduction this season and essentially reform debt-free by the pre-pack message. That would be disgusting to me and to huge numbers of Scottish football fans. There needs to be accountability a sense of punishment for what, to me, amounts to cheating on an enormous scale. My club have suffered at the hands of this for years - Livingston, Gretna, Dundee et al - as well as losing a Scottish Cup semi final to a Rangers side assembled with money that should have been going to the Exchequer. If the worst that happens to Rangers is that they finish second (where they were going to finish anyway) and maybe shed some of their poorer players that would be an outrage that would drive fans of other clubs from the game.
  10. Is it not massively dubious that the administrator will essentailly be Craig Whyte's mate?
  11. Seems that Rangers reckon that since Craig Whyte says so they can appoint administrators today and not wait the statutory five days. HMRC are asking the court to appoint administrators today, but on the back of their petition which presumably gives them more control over it. It looks either way that they will end up in administration by the end of the day though.
  12. Interesting developments at the Court of Session. STV's web reporter down there is tweeting (@carasulieman) that Rangers want to appoint administrators today but HMRC argue they can't. They say that HMRC were about to lodge their admin petition yesterday when they found out Rangers had lodged theirs, meaning they had to go back and amend it. Looks a lot like Rangers are desperate to avoid HMRC getting in there first and getting a good look at the books. Potentially trading while insolvent?
  13. I don't know why I didn't think of that myself, but I've gone out and bought an absolutely monster jar of jalapenos to put on my rolls. Happy days.
  14. I've currently got a more upmarket version of Unleash the Nade's BBQ pulled pork recipe in the slow cooker just now. Chop about 1/2 an onion and put it in the pot with 5 tbsp tomato ketchup, 4 tbsp cider vingear, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sacue, 2 tbsp yellow mustard, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1/2 tsp of salt 1/2 tsp pepper and a fair sprinkle of paprika. Mix the lot up. Take 700 gram pork shoulder (Asda do a good one) and cut into two. Bung it in and get it good and covered in the sauce. Cook on HIGH for eight+ hours, then take it out and pull to pieces with two forks - it should more or less fall apart as soon as you touch it. While you're doing that leave the remaining sauce on high, then chuck the shredded meat back in and mix up, leave the sauce to reduce for a few minutes if possible. I'll be serving mine up on some toasted deli rolls this evening, with a nice helping of my favourite BBQ sauce on top. Maybe some cheese as well. Outstanding. The house smells absolutely amazing at the moment as it cooks.
  15. First time I've put coupons on for a few weeks and what a weekend I had! £10 single on Leeds to beat Burnley at 11/10 draw no bet - £21 back. £10 single on Motherwell to beat Aberdeen at Evens draw no bet - £10 back. And just because I had £3 left in my William Hill account I stuck a silly eight team coupon on: Arbroath to beat Keith Cowdenbeath to beat Bo'ness Peterhead to beat Inverurie Locos Dundee to beat Stirling Motherwell to beat Aberdeen Arsenal to beat Norwich Man City to beat Newcastle Man Utd to beat Swansea My arse was flapping slightly when Swansea were pushing on against Man Utd with a few minutes left but they held off to bring me a nice £163.73 win - total of £204.73 for the day!
  16. And he takes the set on the breaker. Some comeback. Wish he'd turn it on without being a double break down though...
  17. Patricks the Butcher in Main Street, Camelon. Brilliant number plate.
  18. I saw this plate on a car belonging to a Rangers fan after the Saints v Rangers cup semi earlier this year. It reads A4HUN...
  19. Murray goes through to the final! Superb, here's hoping he can go all the way. Unreal shot to take him to 30-15 in that last game!
  20. Excellent from Murray. Two more holds and he's there!
  21. Murray v Cilic is Thursday AFAIK. The other one might be Friday with the final on Sunday.
  22. I was just saying earlier on that Murray seems to have a habit of simply blasting players off the court - I'd like to see a stat of how many players retire hurt against him! Great performance, and I'm sure its a boost to Murray that he has conserved some energy.
  23. 149/8 now - taking a bit of a hounding.
  24. Has anyone managed to state at any point just how Livi are sustaining full-time football on the money they are bringing in? Has this been accounted for at any point? Its hard to find real info among the bitching.
