  1. I had a pile of work to do yesterday so I messaged my wife on Teams (both work for same company) and said that I'll be later home as swamped.  She says that's grand, no worries etc. Enjoy your work.

10 minutes later she messages asking me what sort of cake she should make for a family birthday next week.

Is she planning on baking the cake in the next hour?  Why did that need to be sent when she knows I'm swamped and won't have time to think of the perfect chocolate cake recipe and design!

  2. I'd be happy if we signed Liam.  He scored a handful of goals this season - 1 against QOTS in March, 2 v Raith in December and a hat-trick v Stenhousemuir in the League Cup.  7 mins 38 seconds for his last goal.

Would also bring back some brilliant memories of that Division 3 winning season. Will never forget his goal v Elgin!

  3. A chance to regroup and look ahead.  I've not hidden my feelings about Bollan and his tactics etc but it's probably better just now to have some stability at the club.  I'd say it's pretty clear that the players enjoy playing for him and I'd like to think that our keys players will be wanting to sign on for another season.

What we do need though is a freaking starting goalkeeper who is contracted to the club  We've done well with loans admittedly but we've had the following in goals for us under Bollan (I think anyway):

    • Nicky Hogarth
    • Mac Whyte
    • PJ Morrison
    • Josh Rae
    • Maciej Dabrowski
    • Sam Henderson
    • Aaron Lennox
    • Gary Maley
    • David McGurn
    • Ryan Goodfellow
    • Joe McGovern
    • Blair Penman

When Cox finally left Cowdenbeath even his most loyal defenders there had to admit he was a liability to their club. To get another chance with ARFC should have been appreciated but sitting in a car wearing the ARFC strip with their club badge in full sight and making reference to braking someone’s legs doesn’t reflect the respect he should have for his club, teammates and fans. I’ve no idea if he’s been part of Rovers recent resurgence but I'd be surprised if he’s asked back next season.

As for the other guy, if proven guilty, thrashing the soles of his feet with a bamboo cane seems an adequate punishment.

Well considering the fact he's retired....

We take on Annan at the weekend....a nice 0-0 to ensure Annan are safe and to all but guarantee our safety.

Sounds good to me. Handshakes all round?

Have you got an area of expertise that backs up this bold statement about your manager and quality of player at your club or are you an armchair fan like the rest of us frustrated by your clubs performance? In my opinion being an armchair fan like you, I think you have some decent players, but not many and a Manager who’s recruitment is hampered by lack of finances?

In fairness is everybody not an armchair fan this season? :P

Since we can gather in groups of 6 from 6 households, she has said her parents and brother are coming up on Saturday.  I advise her I am watching the Falkirk game at 12. She cracks up saying I am not sitting in the house when her family are here - as if they are the fucking Windsors. She knew fine well I'd be watching the football yet invites them up because it suits her. Her dad and brother are also Falkirk fans but would never pay for an away stream.

So now I am to turn the TV unit and point it out the patio doors so we can watch the game whilst sitting distanced in the garden. Absolutely fuming.

To compound matters, I am no longer allowed to call Mark Durnan and Connor Sammon useless c***s as it will cause offence.

I've never considered myself to be very rough spoken but this family are a bunch of vanilla c***s.

How was your Saturday then?

A post on Cowdenbeath facebook page suggested the manager received a red card after the game, is this true?

Yeah he was over doing his usual chatting to the referee after the game.

The penalty decision was a joke as far as I could see but I'm  not sure why over an hour later he is still moaning about it.

  9. This is the first match I've seen since it restarted.

This is dreadful. Firstly credit to Stirling who have been excellent.  Defensively though we've been an utter shambles. Finnie looks awful. The two Kyle's in midfield were a shambles and Buchanan does as he always does - runs 5 yards and loses possession.

I can't take any positives from this. Shambolic and I hope this is the last time I have to watch a Bollan managed Cowden side.

You could argue that Cowden were lucky in that they only had to face a very average East Kilbride side in their playoff, and even that went all the way to penalties.

Oh we were very lucky that season.  Even more so the season after v Cove.

The big thing for Brechin is that they need to get some form before hitting the play offs. If they finish last and go into it still with just 1 league win all season then there's little chance.  If they've picked up some points then there might be some belief in the team still. I'd hate to see Brechin drop into Highland League as I'd miss their soup too much.

  11. I had a virtual stag do for one of my mates on Saturday.   Whiskey tasting and games etc over Zoom.  It's been planned for weeks and I of course have mentioned it to my wife on numerous occasions.

"You could go meet your sister?" (in our bubble)
"you could go round to a pals and sit in the garden?"
"you could go for a walk with your pal"

Constantly gave her ideas and things she could do.  Saturday comes round and she's nothing organised and is moaning that Saturday will just be her sitting watching TV alone as she's nothing planned. Meant I had to sit in the kitchen on an uncomfy as hell chair for hours (granted it's better for getting the next beer).

Is it just a guy thing that as soon as the other half mentions plans that we immediately have our day all planned out?  If she was going to be sitting on Zoom for 10 hours drinking I'd give her peace and go out.  Mainly as I don't want to hear that chat.

  12. That was a wholly unexpected but fantastic 3 points on Saturday.  I've been highly critical of the team/manager the last week or two but if they can maintain that level of performance in the final games then we should be safe.

Imagine we sneak a win tomorrow night - Brechin away to Edinburgh so a win would probably see us 10 points clear.  Crazy.
