    I played it in the mid 90s in my early teens and ran enough teams to blow through all my pocket money. Can remember getting on the landline to broker the sensational transfer of Teddy Sheringham (87 rating) to whoever I was managing - only for some middle aged guy in Romford (?) to talk me into Willem Van Der Ark (78) instead.

    A lot of well reasoned posts on both sides of this deal....I'm in the They're All Risks On Both Sides camp. We'll make hay off some more than others, and circumstances dictates how well all our kids will do. £100+k is best we can get at our level and we pray for big coin from progression. We assume our well intentioned gaffer has the future proofing in hand. If he doesn't we move on there too. I (want to) believe he does.

    If Solskjaer isn't a total diddy (he is) today will be the day he drops his loyalty to Lindelof, (Maguire), Matic and Fred. The latter 2 have to play because the former 2 are brutal. Unless he can't run the length of himself, Varane has to play next game. The EPL isn't good enough that this squad can't mount a title challenge, but champions don't draw that game, nor do they start the aforementioned 4 players together.
