  1. You can but dream.... Quite sure if he is a free agent their will be other clubs down south who will be ahead of Aberdeen in the Q Still expect him to be offski and if it is not before the Opening league game v Rangers then a decent performance and goal or 2 v them on Sky should seal a deal somwhere
  2. Let's be honest here. There were one or two who believed the booing was justified and given their past posts on forums it comes as no real surprise. There are still a lot of sensible posters. I would not say it is any worse than any other club fans forum, nor this place for that matter. As for Blyth. Hope that is the end of him at our club. But knowing our employment laws we will probably have to suspend him pending investigation which will take a while and cost a lot. The photos are quite damning, so hopefully he holds his hands up and moves on....
  3. Those clips actually show most of big Zak contribution for us. Giving away 4 needless goals. He really was brutal. Thing is would not surprise me if he has an OK career. We have had a few players leave us who we thought were rubbish and have done OK. Theo Robinson and Nathan Thomas both getting transfer fees recently. Ben Henaghan I think is a decent defender and certainly when he had Mick beside him he performed well. When Mick East injured his form dipped, but if there are a few clubs in for him I suspect they will know more about his potential than most Well fans myself included. I actually like Joe Chalmers. Was not the best player but did actually have a couple of decent games. I think he could cope in the championship if he managed to string a decent run of games together. My big fear is still Moult. We have apparently made him an offer but there has been silence on that. If we managed to sell Heneghan and could move on Blyth and Bowman I would be very happy to see Moult stay for his (probable) final season. To lose his goals and late in the window would be tough to take.
  4. I think keeping us up was a damn good start. You may well be proven right and find out he is not up to the task, but I differ in that I would give him the benefit of the doubt before surmising he is a poor appointment. I think he deserves that chance much as you or I would if we were starting a new job. I think he will do OK and we will improve on last season. May not be difficult but arguably only Hamilton, Ross County, St Johnstone and Partick are smaller clubs. St J are very well run and Ross C and Partick have access to more funds than we have. So any improvement on last year will be welcome.
  5. FWIW I agree re Robinson. Obviously judging by Skippy's comments he has a fiery temperament and if they both had the odd disagreement then I am inclined to see that as a positive for Robinson. Also the fact he knows that he could do better for an assistant shows a steely determination, which should all but banish the days of jobs and contracts based on goodwill and loyalty to some of our long standing pros and former players. Willalways love Faddy but did think his appointment was a lazy option at the time by McGhee. Sure he has the respect of the dressing room buy u got the feeling it was not a decision Robinson would have made. Early days but Robinson is making all the right noises and moves.
  6. Hope that is true in that the Bluenoses have no interest in Moult. I am not saying they were all in favour of spending £1.8m on Garner, but Moult would have p1ssed all over his stats had he played with them last season. Anything less than £1m is a bargain for Moult, but I hope if he does go he goes south. With our defence he would have scored minimum 2 against us in any game.
  7. Nothing to do with the 10 points you took of us this season of course :-) Anyway your sentiments are appreciated.
  8. Depressed to see Blyth still has another year left. Contributed the square root of f**k all so far. As for Big Ben - based on the last month yes take the money. But his form was decent in the 1st half, especially when he had McManus beside him. Don't forget he should also have 2 more goals to his name. There is a decent player there, but he is / was playing with a bomb scare of a goalie behind him and littler protection from flanks.
  9. Good to see one of a few signings join My fear is who might leave. I am a grown man and NEVER cry, but I would shed a tear if Moult leaves. Best out and out striker we have had in ages. If Coliflower or whatever from Killie is worth £800k I would hold out for £10m minimum :-)
  10. That is a shame for both the player and the club. Right at the worst time for both. He is a great player and would have taken the next step in his career next year. Now it will be put back at least 12 months. Interesting to see what he does next. I would expect him to sign a 1 year extension at least so he can get away next Xmas and Hearts get some money assuming he comes though this OK, which hopefully he does.
  11. Some Well fans ripping the p1sh out of Scotland FA for selecting a Motherwell player for International recognition. I am perplexed too. The fact is that Chalmers has actually been semi decent so far this season. Granted he was not last. But some on here are incapable of changing their minds. Funny how one or two talk about idiotic posts and posters on Steelmen Online.
  12. Erwin would be a welcome and worthwhile addition to the squad / team Don't see it happening, but can't believe some guff on here. He should not have left us and everyone but him and his agent knew it. Don't blame him going to Leeds and the £400k was most welcome. The fact is he is and probably would be better than anything else we could afford / entice. For every Moult there is a Fletcher and Robinson so based on his last few months with us - bring him back.
  13. I cannot believe the Rangers statement praising their fans restraint. Obviously have not seen the footage.... Hibs fans exuberance turned a little naughty and when you get many thousands together this is always likely to happen. It was a cracking game of football and I am pleased Hibs managed to address over 100 years of hurt. Both clubs should be hammered though. Hibs for pitch invasion and goading Rangers fans and if there was any assault on Rangers players and officials. Rangers for sectarian singing (don't hold your breath), letting off smoke bombs and their fans entering the pitch and fighting. Should be banned from playing in cup next season. Both teams.
  14. This. Only because we beat Sevco was it an issue. Cost us £30,000 grand in our last home game for stewards as a hefty fine reported to be £100,000 would have been issued had one fan set foot on the pitch. Interestingly Ayr did worse than us in their play off final vStranraer and I seen or heard nothing on that. Don't want anything to happen to Ayr, but double standards all over the shop.
  15. Well done Hibs The Hearts fans will be the most pissed off Hibs deserve this
  16. Still time for a twist yet. Reckon on extra time. Come on Hibs - do not make it 3 potential prizes and None achieved
  17. I don't get the hesitation or reservation regarding Samson He has played twice for us and was very decent against Ross County away Would not be unhappy if he became 1st choice. Of those under contract. Would rather Watt and Chalmers were not. Rest are fine Of those offered new deals - not sure about Faddy. Worship him from the past, but other than a positive influence and back up, feel his playing days are over at this level. Suspect a few may knock back less attractive deals and that is fine as I would like to see some fresh blood. Would like Samson, Lasley, Hammell and skippy to re-sign. The rest MEH. Hall shows promise but we would be due compo/development fee if he leaves ? As for the away, no losses there. Would keep Connor, but he is heading back south. Interesting times.
  18. Knew it would be too much to ask Celtic and Delia not to f**k up winning the cup. A less stressful end to the season for Motherwell, Ross County and St Johnstone fans. 4th is all about a few extra £££££ and not much else. Ah well if we had got there we would have drawn a team from Kazakhstan.... Piss of Celtic... How Delia has lasted as long as he has is one of life's mysteries
  19. I would have taken him at Motherwell. Of course it is a risk, but then so is every player signing on at most clubs in the top flight. Could work out very well for the dandies - 2nd in the bag now
  20. WELL done St Johnstone - jealous as f#ck but pleased for the players and more so the fans . Perth will see some party tonite... United a little bit unlucky but missing out of Europe also.
  21. They will still pull it round. FT 1-1 and Celtic to win 20-19 on penalties Hope not but bound to happen. Well maybe not the penalty count....
  22. We are worried, but let's put things into perspective. From a fully fit squad only 4 maybe 5 players that played tonight would be in our 1st team. We rested Humphrey (our flying winger that tore up SPL defences last season), Hately our regular right back, Nicky Law, Hutchison (1st choice central defender), OJamma (Estonian Int'l) and scorer of 9 goals from 18 games last season + Carswell (would play midfield ahead of Hethrington) Only Randolph (GK), Hammell, Lasley, Murphy and Higdon that played tonight played regularly for the 1st team last season. That said we will get humped in the Champions league and most well fans expect it. Was impressed with Raith in the last 20 minutes, should have probably won it with the chances that you created. Good luck for next season...
  23. Can you promise not to post on here either.......that would have a greater impact........i.e PLEASING
