  1. Appropriate that he doesn’t understand this given that he’s spending all his time on here putting his foot in his mouth!
  2. Er, the word is mathematics. But what he’s doing is the arithmetic.
  3. Is there an award for the most stupid post of the year on P&B? The government was told that without action there would have been around 750k deaths in the UK. There is now some optimism that we may be able to keep this to ~20k. Trump is a well known anti-vaxxer. Presumably when a vaccine is developed you will turn down the offer of a dose?
  4. The problem is that the gate money for the season is less than the minimum cost of a squad given the minimum wage legislation. (To be fair this applies to most part time teams in Scotland.). It’s the prize money and lottery income that keeps us going. If the club has used the Rangers money to pay off the bank overdraft it did the right thing. My concern from last year’s accounts was that while the club was overall in the black, this was because of the value placed on the Fitba Bar. Cash was substantially less than short-term bank borrowings, which could be called in within a year. We might have had a lot of difficulty in selling off the pub quickly if this had proven necessary. Hopefully we are no longer relying on a bank to stay in business and we can retain the bar into the long term.
  5. And it’s has/had Ayrshire teams, and East Kilbride were (briefly) members.
  6. Many epidemiologists think we are heading for the worst outbreak in Europe because of the incompetence of PM Cummings and his lackey Johnson.
  7. 2 or 3 clubs who would have been in Tier 3 under the current structure, and so at least two seasons away from possible relegation out of the SPFL, would be in the bottom tier under this structure, and so just one season away from relegation, so definitely penalised
  8. So on that basis my office cleaner should has three part time cleaning jobs to make ends meet should only get 80% for one of them?
  9. It would be helpful if they explained the provenance of these figures. But... A standard measure of an organisation's financial resilience used by many (including investors) is how many days' cash they have. It indicates how strong they are if cash stops flowing in. Exactly the position we are now in. If these figures come from the latest published accounts then many of these clubs are in trouble unless they can very quickly cut their costs deeply. Look at what Hearts have done. Many more will follow.
  10. It’s not. It’s a members club and always has been.
  11. Er, when our financial position was dire we repaid all the debts. We couldn’t take the easy way out of administration, since not available to us as a members' club.
  12. It’s going to be challenging if we have to put a * after every club's name from next season on. (Obviously two after Rangers.)
  13. The PM can legislate to ban professional sport in England. He doesn’t have the power to ward championships in Scotland.
  14. Or clubs asking staff to pay for postponed games now. I see some teams in Ireland doing this through selling virtual tickets.
  15. Doubt it. Look at the fortune we spent strengthening the squad with the money from the Rangers game [emoji1]
  16. Rangers* possibly most likely given the state of their accounts and their going concern qualification.
  17. So you want to potentially eject Brechin from the league based on a health emergency rather than deservedly/objectively based on results? Doubt that would survive judicial review.
  18. Unacceptable to promote or relegate teams based on a partially completed season.
