  1. OK, I've managed to successfully raggle my wall in preparation for putting the TV on the wall. I had been informed by my mate that I can use a Sky Eye type thing so I can put the box elsewhere and plug the other part of the Sky Eye into the TV and it will work. I'm starting to think that might not be true as everywhere I've looked online says that the Sky Eye is only for additional TV's, not the primary one. Can anyone shed any light on how I can do this?
  2. Went for my honeymoon in May, stayed at NY NY. Great hotel, cheap ish rooms (with a jacuzzi), good restaurants, great pool and pool bar, 2 $5 blackjack tables where I hoovered up plenty of free bevvy and only 10 mins walk down to the middle of the strip. We done the helicopter tour to the Canyon, pricey at around $700 but it was worth it. I can't speak highly enough of Vegas, been twice and had an amazing time on both occasions, definitely my favourite place.
  3. Yeah they finally got a letter from a previous surveyor to say everything was in order, a week wasted for very little.
  4. Yeah I'm a bit dubious myself but thought I'd give it a try if the price/hassle was minimal.
  5. It's right in the middle of wall facing where the sofa is going.
  6. How much cost and work is involved in raggling cables for putting a TV on a chimney breast? We finally got the go ahead for our house and would like to do this but I've been talking to my mates who are tradesmen and they're saying I'll need to relocate a plug point and cut holes in the brick etc and I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not.
  7. Yeah the guy from the council said they have 10 days to do the letter, so hopefully they take pity on us and get done sharpish. The fact the seller doesn't live in the house could also provide a problem with availability for the surveyor to get access.
  8. Yeah exactly. Hopefully everyone gets their finger out and we can proceed and move in on our proposed date, which is 2 and a half weeks away, its looking less likely every day! Cheers for the replies guys.
  9. He's saying we can't proceed until they come up with either a Letter of Comfort from a surveyor saying its ok, or the permission paperwork from when it was knocked down. My worry is the guy who is selling knocked it down without permission, and it's a load bearing wall and its not legal and the deal is off.
  10. Yeah they're saying we could get a letter of comfort, but I still think they need to prove it was done "legally". They only have electronic records back to '96, so maybe they'd have to check the paper records for before that, but apparently SLC have just moved that department to Hamilton and the paper stuff is still in EK, which is inconvenient. It's been going on for a while now, you'd think the seller would want his money (he's making a fortune on it) but they're dragging their heels for some reason.
  11. I'm in the process of buying a house, but on the home report it says there was a wall taken away within the property. The seller is saying it was done before he was there and doesn't have the paperwork for it. I have since called the council and they don't have any record of it in the past 20 years, which to me means it was done on the fly, or over 20 years ago. Anyone got any ideas what my next step should be? Selling solicitors obviously trying to fob us off, but mine won't proceed til we get paperwork for it.
  12. The house we were hoping to buy has been taken off the market. Seems the sellers' purchase of another property fell through.
  13. Happy 4th of July everyone. Just going along with the theme of celebrating historic events that happened in another country.
  14. Took both teams not to score in the first half before ko, then the opposite in play, £325 up. Missus took Belgium double chance then wales in play, £250 up B)
  15. I've went for England double chance (win or draw) pre game and will bet Wales in-play.
  16. Took in Atletico Madrid v Rayo Vallecano at the Vicente Calderon last Saturday on my stag do. Atleti won 1-0, wasn't a great game in truth, they played their 2nd team as they had Bayern in the CL the following midweek. They brought Griezmann (who scored) and Torres on in the 2nd half which livened things up a bit. Decent atmosphere and the Calderon is an excellent stadium, if not a bit aged. Build up was superb, loads of pubs on the main route down with a relaxed atmosphere.
  17. EK is magic, although there's definitely high arsehole per head ratio. And it snows here more often than not. And it's always windy. And the football pitches are all garbage. EK is shite.
  18. Posted on the other podcast thread, Kevin Pollak's Chat Show is quite entertaining depending on the guest. He's had a few top guests, Seth MacFarlane, Matthew Perry & Bryan Cranston to name a few. The wee games they play on it are quite funny and it's not your usual run of the mill interview.

  20. Just got these for wearing with my club tracky for football and general arsing around. £45 down to £30, no bad.

  22. Watched Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal, horrendous. His character(s) just overreact to everything and the ending was terrible.
  23. I'm going for mine next April, buzzing. Managed to get a hotel and flights for £200 and going to Atletico v Rayo Vallecano.
  24. Nice one, cheers. From what it looks like, there's every chance it was me!
  25. Got a message from FB saying someone tried to log into my FB and gave an IP address. Is there a way of locating exactly or roughly where the attempt was made using this? It said it was from near Drumchapel (I'm from EK) so it probably isn't just a dodgy location setting.
