  1. Every SPL club losing £500,000 pa and celtic double that every year for the next 3 years. Is this the price we are willing to pay for sporting integrity?

It's a very small sum to pay to cleanse Scotland of the vile, cheating, bully, bigoted organisation that was Rangers and that will be replicated by the Newco Rangers and the low life that support them. It's worth every single penny and more.

  2. Of course it is and its the same phrase Motherwell are using, they should be voting for thegood of the game not their own selfish interest.

Yep. They don't appear to have the noodle to realise that without the bigot brothers they can satisfy both interests. They will never have another chance like this to get rid of one of them.

Thats all we diddies I should add!

  3. Motherwell statement

''Whatever the outcome of the vote on'Newco' it will be more important than ever that our fans stayloyal to the club, as we look forward to our debut in the Champions League, and that our efforts to grow the fanbase continue to be successful.

On the pitch, these are very good times at Motherwell FC and it is vital that we continue to work together as a club toenable us to emerge from the current SPL difficulties with our integrityand optimism intact."

Hopefully the Board will note exactly why they are about to make their probable once only appearance in said Champions League and have a long hard think about how things could be if they grow a set.

  4. See, thats what I love about this saga. There have been days where announcements have been due, we've all built ourselves up in anticipation, the excitement has grown and grown until ... nothing happens.

Then, we have days like today, when nothing was expected, yet we get what could be one of the most important statements of the whole affair.

Indeed. Certainly didn't see this lot coming.

  5. Hud the front page...

Pie and Bovril@pieandbovSPL deem that Rangers have a case to answer regarding dual contracts payments.

Pie and Bovril@pieandbovDisciplinary charges to be brought against the club once their future status has been clarified and prior to start of season 2012-2013

Pie and Bovril@pieandbovSPL also confirm that meeting to decide on Newco transfer will be at 10am on Weds 4th July.

Pie and Bovril@pieandbovOn EBT's;The investigation has now been completed and, in the view of the SPL, there is a prima facie case to answer in respect of its Rules

  6. There are rules to do that, they just haven't been invoked. The chairmen want this two weeks to see what the fallout is and what consensus can be reached before the meeting. There is still plenty of time to get the SPL house in order.

The SFL might be under time pressure, I am sure it will be their decision on who gets promoted out of Dundee or Dunfermline (or they could choose to promote no one) and which club gets the open spot in SFL 3.

You're right with regard to your original point. There should be some rule that says that the normal 14 day period of notice can be reduced in certain circumstances, so long as X% of clubs agree to this. this would have to be accompanied by each club allowing some sort of proxy vote in the event that a club chariman couldn't attend the meeting at short notice. It's incredible the SPL doesn't have a provision such as this in place.

Of course maybe they do and they don't want to use it. I still feel the SPL chairmen would be delighted if this decision was taken out of their hands.

Edit to add: JMG has maybe already clarified this. :)

Yep. Looks like they do but just aren't taking advantage of it. I agree with Granny in that it's probably just another delaying tactic. I'm sure all Chairmen already know how they're going to vote.

  7. TalkSport just interviewed some Scottish guys at the Euros in Poland. Asked who they were supporting, one remarked 'ABI - anyone but Ireland', with four of the other five stating 'England', the vox pop ending with a rousing 'Come on England' from the Scotsmen.

Guess which disgraced and now defunct football club they supported?

If they were on Talksport they'd have to be West Ham, Tottenham or Arsenal fans.

  8. I am surprised none of the more clued up orcs have had a little word in the ears of those who run RM in making it a members only reading site . Embarrasingly - for them- there are those saying that this has all been an orchestrated campaign against the good protestants of this country by a ' *****' media and politicians . Even more worrying , is that there are plenty agreeing and one nutter wanting to take the fight to the streets . Obviously , nothing at all to do with their team cheating on a grand scale for years

It's really disgraceful that the authorities haven't closed it down yet. They are quick enough to invoke the appropriate laws when some pissed student racially abuses a celebrity but such an open cesspit of bigotry goes unchecked.

  9. Rangers newco SHOULD be relegated to the lowest division in the football league,

This is another misconception that must be clarified. Rangers are not being relegated. They do not exist any more. They put themselves out of business by cheating and therefore ended their own involvement in any league.

What is being discussed is their successor's entry into the Scottish senior league system. It's not a case of how far down the league system this new club is being sent but how high they are brought in at.

The relegation line is just more of the succulent lamb propaganda. They should be discussing admitting The Rangers not relegating them.

  10. Slightly off topic, but is there a limit to loanees in Div 3?

Theoretically , if Rangers were to go to DIv 3, what is to stop Celtic unofficially adopting a "feeder" club (for argument's sake Queens Park or Clyde) and loaning them the the youngsters, likes of Tony Watt etc. Thus hampering Rangers' predicted rise up the divisions?

What's to stop them is Celtic's need for Rangers to be right beside them in the SPL for their own financial safety. Great theory though!

  11. I dont want to be pedantic about it, but what the one in that link says is "we have no plans to stop covering the Scottish Premier League."

    Thats hardly a definitive statement.

I have no plans to stay off work on Monday, but if I won the lottery tonight, my plans might change

You're quite right of course but there have been people much further up the food chain that have unofficially stated to reliable enough sources that Sky will still cover the SPL, but with a reduced fee, to be confident that'll be the case.

  12. http://www.dailyreco...86908-23896636/

The Ibrox club may not have to start again in the bottom tier of the senior game if it is expelled from the SPL as Sky bosses fret over their absence for at least three years.

The broadcaster is willing to risk a 12 month "hit" as its new, £80million television deal prepares to kick in next season but has warned it cannot sustain its investment without Rangers.

Very interesting. Has the sub editor slipped up and let this one through or is it the Record finally realising the truth about Sky not walking away is in the public domain?

  13. Gavin Browne@GavinBrowne77just spoken to a paper in Scotland re Lee Croft - St Johnstone want him back and he'd apparently be happy to go (part 1 of 2) #oafc

Gavin Browne@GavinBrowne77(part 2 of 2) however, Saints' ability to fund it depends on what happens with Rangers and whether they're allowed back into the SPL#oafc

I await an answer as to which paper he spoke to.
