Agreed about Connolly...seemed like the obvious one for me. Bit of pace to drag their back line out.

If Goodwin is determined to play the 3/5 at the back, the width is going to be provided by the wing backs so unless Connolly has the defensive capabilities to play that role I'm not seeing where he fits into that formation. It seems odd bringing him in if JG always had the wing back plan at the back of his mind unless he thought he could do that role but training has shown otherwise. Alternatively JG might see him as something other than a wide player in which case he can't be showing much if the likes of Cammy are getting the attacking support slot ahead of him.

Maybe not starting, but as our structure changed in the game I think he’d have been a decent option.

If 3-5-2 is his chosen formation, then why did he make such a big deal about going after a winger with pace? Or have we just fallen into that formation recently?

Anyway, hope every player in the first team squad gets at least 90 mins over the next two games. Chance for the likes of Kyle and Connolly to change some opinions.

"The SPFL have now launched their second investigation in a week into the circumstances of the latest postponement. Disciplinary proceedings will follow next week following allegations of serious breaches of social distancing protocols surrounding player car sharing, coach journeys and team meals. Kilmarnock already face the possibility of a points forfeit after the league followed the postponement of their recent game with Motherwell with disciplinary charges. Privately senior figures regard the charges facing St Mirren as more serious."

It’s all conjecture at the moment, but gut feel is that we’ll be hit in a big way. Not sure if we’ll face a points deduction, but it could end up being a fine. E.g % of prize money at the end of the season.

We’ve had too many instances of this now to claim the protocols in place are sufficient. I get that people can/will bring it in, but there’s clearly more we should be doing.

How can you blame fans for picking up offical statements from Coventry FC. I went through school with Ian B. something he is not is a liar. The fact is we have a very poor public relations department at the club.

But what he’s said on Twitter clearly contradicts what Kyle has said in a subsequent interview. Maybe he’s not a liar, but he clearly didn’t know the full story to be shooting his mouth off.

I think a lot of 'fans' need to take a step back and calm down. We don't need to know EVERYTHING.

Too many people are ready to jump on anything and everything the club announces. The young lad on loan from Rangers is another example - Looks like a decent signing on paper and possibly one for the future yet when you look online you see a good number of fans claiming it's a disgrace we got rid of Baird for an old firm youth and questioning why we can't blood our own.

We quite obviously were not going to sign a player that was going to be injured for a significant period of his loan term. Especially when it's a player in a position that we desperately need filled. We'd have done our basic due diligence on the guy.

Spot on. We’ve got people threatening to hand back season tickets, etc. The LB looks a decent signing on paper and, given Tait said he can play anywhere across the back, immediately strengthens that area.

I can see at least another one coming in by the time we get to the next league game, plus, reading between the lines on previous Goodwin comments, I’d expect a Irish League signing in Jan.

It’s looked worse because of injuries.

The man responsible for runing the team did not know one of his key players was sold. This after a club offical statement saying Not For Sale. The manager has been undermined I'm surprised Goodwin has not resigned.  The boardroom is deafening. SMISA is disappointing.

Why would he resign? That’s just stupid as he’s got a family to support, so won’t just walk away. In his position, it’s up to the board to make the move and pay him off.

Don’t get some of our fans meltdown over this transfer. Magennis, when fit, is a decent player. Not John McGinn or even Stephen McGinn. Money freed up for a couple of defenders by Monday,

Good luck to the lad at Hibs and I wish him all the best

Broadly my opinion. The only thing I’m disappointed about is the fact we made such a big deal about rejecting two bids then Goodwin saying what he did.
We’ve looked shambolic, although that’s not a new thing.

    Are you able to read?

Yup. The quote from Downie’s Twitter relates to the Crewe deal. In a separate paragraph it mentions Magennis. Downie doesn’t mention anything about Magennis on his Twitter page.

    It’s a bit like saying:

According to Sky journo, hibs have bid £200k for a Crewe midfielder.
Random Guy is a Willy Warmer.

It’s in the same story, doesn’t relate to what Downie said. Or does it?

tbf its being widely reported youve accepted £200k.

Where’s it been reported? I’ve not seen a number quoted in any news reports. I’ve seen £200k listed next to the lad from Crewe they were linked with.

£200k would surprise me given what we’d make from compensation at the end of the season. Although the relative silence from the board in recent weeks, and from SMISA is starting to concern me. We’ve got some ‘nice’ people in SMISA, but do we have any leaders? I’m not so sure.

I'm hurting dont know about any other Saints fan. Sell Kyle ok dontt like it. To turn around  and say we are not selling then change that is bullshit.  Leadership from the board room is worse than poor. This is the point SMISA should be  standing up. You might want Goodwin out but this is wrong he wanted to keep Kyle. You guessed it Goodwin is out there is a new manager In I'm guessing  ?

Goodwin isn’t out though, at least not that I’ve heard. Do you know something?

I have concerns of SMISA and the overall running of the business. How do fans feel? Quite telling that only one new representative put themselves forward recently.

O drink form me to ight, tomorrow night yes. We are a joke of a club. How many old people ha e you heard who watched Saints a d gave up. Div admitted to his dad , my dad  , my old boss used to tell me the same. . Joke of a club if report's are true. Form my side money pissed against the wind regarding SMISA.

Well, if no drink is involved then you’re obviously angry and not making sense.

shouting about getting your money back from SMISA is OTT.

What a joke of a club I'm close to be finished with Saints.  Feeling really pissed off. Goodwin has had a kick in the balls. Can you get your money off  SIMSA anyone know ?

Put the whisky down DZ and come back tomorrow.

It’s a disappointing defeat, but if we’d had held on then there would have been a lot more positivity. Just watched the goals back, if Joe had just managed to get a foot on it, we’d have seen it out.

The Magennis thing is disappointing for sure, but if we’ve got significantly more now than we would have in compensation at the end of the year then I’ll take it on the chin. Let’s seen what happens between now and the transfer window.
