That at the hand of those pishy scriptwriters again? Shows how memorable the series has been on their watch.
Whilst the TV version is all well & good, it's not a patch on the books & well see how the author deals with these situations. Instead of just saying "oh they're dead/cheerio" to main characters.
As much as it's visually great, story wise, it's a complete meh.

    Eh?

Osha and Rickon were both killed by Ramsay on screen. Summer was killed on screen by wights. We saw Smalljon Umber present Shaggydog's head to Ramsay along with Rickon.

Rickon's death scene was drawn out for about 10 minutes and kicked off the Battle of the b*****ds. How the f**k can you forget that?

  2. So it seems as though we're drawing up a shortlist of 4 or 5 names this week, with McClaren, Freedman and Coyle all pretty much certain to feature, plus another two "interesting" names that haven't featured in the press yet, according to Chris McLaughlin. Former Ludogorets, Bulgaria and Dinamo Zagreb manager Ivaylo Petev has been mentioned.

It couldn't possibly be the case that Gary Locke's brother is a slaver, could it?

  3. This season does have a whiff of relegation battle about it, I have to say. Still very much salvageable but the next few weeks are critical.

Our problems started pretty much when we got promoted. The first couple of transfer windows weren't great, but they weren't terrible either. Last summer's was a disaster. Went for a new goalkeeper, lost out on Gilks and immediately made Hamilton number 1. Sammon, Watt, Rherras, Nowak, Noring. Every one of them shit. Bjorn Johnsen was easily the best one and he's just been punted, which tells you all you need to know.

In January we tried to fix all the problems by signing a new team all at once. Never going to work, especially with the type of players available at that point of the season. That squad, as average as it was, had us 2nd/3rd around the time Neilson left and we should have persevered with it and saved our cash.

We're now at the stage where we're pretty much having to replace half a team every window. I think we've made some decent signings this summer, but because we've left ourselves so much to do as a result of previous transfer windows, we've still got gaps all over the pitch. No goalkeeper and a midfield full of powderpuff water carriers. No width, pace or creativity in the team at all.

I'd say we're probably at least three good signings away from challenging for a European place, unless the new manager is something special. Not ideal when we've just punted our manager and have a stand to pay for.

    On the contrary.

"What then went on inside those four walls – as Cathro went for Bjorn Johnsen in front of all manner of gobsmacked witnesses – became a matter for the legal department of the players’ union. Let’s put it this way, it’s no great surprise Johnsen has been allowed to slip quietly back to Holland."

That's American-born Norwegian international Bjorn Johnsen, who previously played in Norway, Spain, Portugal and Bulgaria, quietly slipping back to Holland.

  5. I keep seeing people saying he had a good squad, massive wages etc. This was the cup final team:

    MacDonald

    McGowan Webster Zaliukas Grainger

    Barr Black

    Suso Skacel Driver

    Elliott

A team of world-beaters right enough. None of them were his signings and most of them improved significantly under him. He made Ian Black look like Pirlo FFS.

  6. It's actually quite incredible how we've gone from getting promoted at the first attempt with a record points total, and finishing six points off second place in our first season back, to this.

The management of the football department has been a disaster since we got promoted. The signing policy, the way players have been treated, the tactics and motivation have all been dreadful. Levein's coat should be on a shoogly peg.

It's also unbelievable that we managed to find a worse manager than Gary Locke within two appointments.

Hibs 27 places higher on the UEFA rankings than the wee team as well.

    It's official.

The UEFA rankings seem totally bizarre.

Hibs have won one European tie (in the 2006 Intertoto Cup against Dinaburg) since 1989. We were ranked above Aberdeen last season despite not having played in Europe for four years.
