  1. Bloody hell, calm down. You're literally using caps lock to shout in a forum.
  2. Murder result, but we've always known every team in this league will take points off each other. We've had seven wins, two losses and a draw, even if today was a shambles it's still hardly a crisis. Doesn't even affect our league position. We will win, lose and draw games this season, as will every other club in this league.
  3. Agree. For me he's only really useful (or maybe at his most useful is a fairer description) when played as the 10 with a 9 alongside him. When he's on form he's excellent, never stops moving and trying to make things happen. Seems the type who needs to play every week to get the best of him.
  4. Looks like we're going for a straight 442. Glad to see Garrity making a start.
  5. I've been watching Dumbarton for 16 seasons and there have been dodgy owners in the background for every single day of that time, and they were there before I was. That situation isn't resolving itself soon, so we should still be able to complement when things are done well, without every single thing being seen through the lens of "yes, but we have dodgy owners". So yes it's nice to have digital tickets being brought in, discount season for kids with lots of perks, fan engagement, good merch, new people running the bar and doing it well, club shop, season ticket instalments, away fans bar, the ground and surroundings being painted club colours and a dozen other little details that make for a nicer fan experience. Not to mention the squad having been successfully rebuilt and winning games. It's not a dirty word to give credit to the club and it shouldn't be controversial to say I'm enjoying this season and the club generally at the moment, dodgy owners or not.
  6. As I said, to whom do we owe thanks for the improvement. You've answered that and you and others deserve plenty of praise. We're all sadly well aware of the skeletons in the closet of dodgy ownership etc. My optimistic post last night was intended to highlight some of the nicer aspects around DFC lately, in spite of the background shenanigans.
  7. That's the spirit. I mean it's not like we're top of the league or anything.
  8. Single malt actually. And yes, I was overcome by a fit of pique. Let's all get back to whinging. To hell with any positive progress.
  9. I'm going to be slightly controversial here and say: I don't mind (too much*) if we don't end up going up this season. The reason I say this odd thing is that we appear to have taken great strides on and off the pitch after the last few years of shambles and it's just so goddamn refreshing that I'm happy with everything currently. I do, of course, reserve the right to complain about any number of issues, both real and imaginary, in the future. But seriously, we seem to have overnight turned into a comparatively capable and competent football club. Which after years and years of accepting pish infrastructure and fan engagement, even when we had a 5 season purple patch on the field, feels like a corner turned and a victory in itself. Now, how did we suddenly go from abysmal at playing football and running a customer based business to suddenly being good at both? That's something I'd genuinely love to know as whomsoever is/are responsible deserves acknowledgement. FYI I will henceforth leave the rambling, long-winded shitposting to resident expert, BallochSonsFan. Consider this a self indulgent one off. *I do, of course, expect us to compete.
  10. I'd prefer we overthrow the government, utility companies and 'elite' and execute all of them. Perfectly happy for the leagues to go into mothballs until the revolution has been concluded in it's bloody glory. Then play football games at 3pm when they're supposed to be played.
  11. I think there's a sweet spot in when a child (different for each one obvs) will enjoy going to the football. I went too early with my daughter and she doesn't like the game at all as a result. I feel like I've failed as both a father and a Dumbarton fan. Neither of mine enjoy it. But both sat beside Clarko, so it may just be him they don't like.
  12. It's Viking ton modus operandi: talk shite in condescending tone, disappear when it turns out you made an erse of it, slink back after a short while and avoid referring to previous minter and adopt tried and tested tactic beloved of internet shite bags who aren't as clever as they think they are by arguing minor grammatical and terminology points. Bonus points if you hang onto said point like a dug with a stick and/or insist that the other person 'be specific'.
  13. Took the weans a walk down by the grand old girl earlier and there's a fella spray painting the club crest onto the concrete blocks at the footpath entrance. I'm a sucker for cool wee touches like that. Need to see if we can project a hundred foot club crest onto the Rock at night, like a bat signal, but for elephants.
  14. It sounds very much like those three clubs have found their natural level. I'd expect the likes of Stenhousemuir and Edinburgh City to join them within the next decade.
  15. I'd expect us to freshen things up for this game, such as McKee, McLean, Carswell coming back in. Maybe see Garrity get a first start.
  16. I found this video quite insightful, or at the very least interesting. https://youtu.be/UHNYNaX14eI
  17. Why are the 'do your own research' brigade always taken in by easily debunkable sources and unreliable info that confirms their outlook bias? It always results in a concentric downward spiral of conspiracy beliefs that ultimately leads to 'everything and everyone except me is wrong/a lie'. It's insanely conceited and leads to / fuels a very unhealthy mindset. COVID was a real motivator for these types of people and I saw several friends just go deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. It's sad.
