  1. We’ve also had Roberts playing on the left the last few weeks and he’s far better centrally, bizarre to see Gomis there today but all a symptom of the fact that the squad assembled is unbalanced and has glaring holes in it. Left back, left midfield, right back, right midfield are all problem areas.

We are being forced to play players out of position or guys that just aren’t good enough. That’s down to Danny.

Thicot was a horror show today, Peter grant has made plenty mistakes but he looks a much better option than Thicot. Or why not try sula in there with mclean?

  2. Letting go Docherty was the right thing to do, he’s totally done at league 1 level. So much so Edinburgh have already put him out on loan to Forfar.

The problem there is we didn’t sign a competent enough left back.

Taking Allan off for Kurtis roberts is so baffling it’s not true, roberts hasn’t done a single thing since joining.

He did more in 7 mins than euan Cameron managed in 75.
  3. The post match interview is a farce btw. I seen they’ve stopped tweeting Danny’s comments the last few weeks but I found it on the website.

The questions posed were basically 1. We were unlucky today eh? And 2. Kelty next week what do you think?

Ok the red was harsh and changed the game but surely 6 defeats in a row warrants questioning. Or the continuing bizarre team selections and blatant lack of quality in certain positions. I’m fed up of Danny getting such an easy ride and waffling his pish every week.

Next week is absolute last chance saloon in my opinion.

  4. If we are going to stick to the 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 type formation which is about the best fit for what we have player wise then I would go something like:

    Parry
    Lyon McLean sula Kennedy
    Cuddihy grant gomis rodden
    Cunningham
    Allan

I absolutely hate having Lyon in there but if he doesn’t play then Cuddihy needs to drop back and I can’t see who plays right midfield then. Scullion had a cameo at RB yesterday but not sure if that’s a position he can fill moving forward.

Roberts is a decent player too but he really needs to be played centrally to get the best out of him.

The lack of options at full back and even left/right midfield are criminal. Cuddihy is the only one I’m happy with in those positions.

  5. Garbage today, knew it would be as soon as I saw that line up. Besides Ray Grant, Jordan Allan and Neil Parry should be the next two names on the team sheet.

We are abysmal in the full back positions and a raw 18 year old lad from Killie isn’t going to help, early to judge but he looks no better than what we have. Rodden looked ok when he came on and could be worth giving a run in there or playing in front of Kennedy as a left midfielder.

Ross Lyon, Ewan Cameron, Kurtis Roberts, Peter grant and the keeper were all poor to dreadful.

We do have some good players but with the other personnel around them they don’t stand a chance at the moment.

  6. Peter Grant, Ross Lyon, Euan Cameron. Take them out that team and the others have done okay. Can't come and play a decent Falkirk side with three passengers though.
Lyon's attempt to block the cross at the second goal was absolutely pathetic.

Got to agree with this, maybe include the keeper too.
  7. We were horrific last week so of course it’s the exact same line up this week.

Ross Lyon is absolutely terrible, awful touch, awful decision making, awful final ball.

If I hadn’t already bought my ticket I’d be staying at home seeing that team.

Three left backs on the bench too so at least there’s plenty of cover for chocolate legs Kennedy.

This will be a pumping. [emoji30]

  8. Whilst full back is a real area of need I’m not exactly buzzing at the signing of an 18 year old lad from killie. Wasn’t impressed at all with Devenney we had from them previously.

We already have Hendji and Rodden on the books too who don’t look up to it and obviously Danny agrees given we’ve been playing Paul Kennedy in there. So there’s money being pished away on guys that aren’t going to get a look in.

Hopefully this new lad is decent and solves a problem for us but there still has to be massive questions over recruitment.

  9. As for Broomhill, they are a tacky novelty act based on chronic patter and whoring themselves to armchair old firm fans. It’s embarrassing seeing unsustainable, financially doped pish like that challenging for promotion to the SPFL proper while promotion from below is throttled to slow the progress of genuine big teams from the WoS in particular.
The lowland league is an absolute shit show and the sooner b-teams, uni teams and glorified boys clubs are flushed out of it the better.

  10. The lack of any quality at all in the full back positions is killing us imo. Need to get Cuddihy fit and playing RB, not sure how we fix the LB issue, Kennedy has looked about the best bet but again fitness issues.
A back 4 of Cuddihy sula McLean Kennedy is about the best we can offer. Not at all impressed with Peter Grant or Thicot at this stage and probably would go as far as saying they are money that could be better spent elsewhere, given they are likely 2 of the highest earners.

  11. You are far better than peterhead if it is any consolation , and if you can iron out some of the mistakes better than some  other teams
you gave us a lot of  problems regardless of the scoreline .

It’s not much use being far better than Peterhead when we can’t beat them ourselves and will likely gift them 10 points in matches against us.

Has Rodden been binned already? I thought he looked awryt vs Bonnyrigg despite a pish overall team performance that day.

Nah, he’s not been binned, just odd that with a natural left back (Rodden) on the bench Danny chose to put Kennedy on there after Hendji came off. Fair play though, Kennedy had a good game there.

  13. What shouts? He had f**k all to do other than pick the ball out the net and save the penalty. Absolutely mental anyone could have criticised him on today's showing.

Some boy down the front was giving him pelters in the first half. Also heard his kicking being criticised. For some reason some of our fans just haven’t taken to him. All about opinions I suppose.
  14. Genuinely amazing that people don’t like Neil Parry, what a keeper he is.

100% this, some mental shouts at him today. His penalty save was a huge part of us winning today as if queens went 2-2 (completely undeservedly) then who knows what happens.

He’s a proven goalkeeper at this level and miles better than our alternative.
  15. It’s been a long time coming Cutty Sark for me..not just recently….the last 3 seasons have been really difficult with the odd highlight…I don’t think I’m alone unfortunately.

The last 3 seasons have been better (football wise - obviously the covid spell was a bit shite from a fans pov) than most of the decade before where we struggled in the league below this one.

As mentioned by another poster trips to falkirk, Dunfermline, airdrie, qots, etc are light years ahead of being stuck in the basement league and regularly getting done off Elgin, Berwick, etc

Looking ahead at the shifting landscape of lower leagues in Scotland I think league one is as good as it’s going to get for us and actually staying at this level for any length of time will provide a serious challenge in the seasons to come.
