So this is the "mystery development" about to restore PAs reputation, dream on, it just makes him look even more ridiculous. There's no doubt Giuffre dropping her lawsuit against Dershowitz makes her other claims less credible, but less credible than PA? Trashing Giuffre won't restore PAs reputation, it just refocuses on the sleazy aspect of it and makes him look vindictive. My real gripe however is that the costs of this attempt to restore PAs reputation will be hidden in the Royal Family's sundry expenses and that we'll end up paying for it.

We're going into this game after a good win (sic) yesterday, a couple of injury concerns but with hope that we'll have coupla new face in by Wednesday. Aberdeen are in disarray and with Scales out suspended although I'm not sure who that benefits most - I'm presuming JGs departure will make it more difficult for them to get anyone decent in. Aberdeen's last three games which got JG the bullet were away from home but they got 4/6 points from their last two home games while our away form has been indifferent. I expect Aberdeen's fans & team to be defiant on Wednesday night so I'll go for the third oldest cliche in the book and say the first goal will be vital - hopefully a calamity goal against them which will get their fans on the players backs. Never give a sucker an even break!

It's not just the furriners though, it was a lazy (at best) statement from Miller but it does contain a kernel of truth - very few players spend even as much as 5 years with their clubs these days and when the going gets tough the indifferent become even more mediocre, it just doesn't matter to them as much as it does to us. I've been unfortunate enough to see a few Saints teams where the majority were going through the motions which seemed very much the case for the Aberdeen players yesterday, teams that were just waiting to lose the first goal in order to go into their shells. I don't know what a manager does when a team reaches that situation, maybe you can only hope for an outrageous piece of good fortune to restore the good humours, sadly for JG it never happened and he'll just have to take Scarlett O'Hara's advice that tomorrow is another day.

Maybe it just shows that budgeting for 7th gets you a better squad.

Gamble for both sides, my feeling is Brophy "won't hit the ground running" and will be our problem again come the summer. Nothing against the guy personally as he's always showed willing but he's not the player we thought we were getting back in 21.

It's still an enormous factor - I always view the OF as Tier 1 of Scottish football and the big city teams (Aberdeen, Hearts Hibs ) as Tier 2 - the OF are clear at the top and are currently going for 37 (?) in a row, the big city teams are all in the Top6 now the season has passed the halfway mark. To an extent a dud should be able to manage these teams to their current positions and it takes something exceptionally bad, a Butcher to get one of these teams relegated, Hertz were relegated as the result of being punished for financial doping. 6 of the bottom 7 in terms of attendance are in the bottom6 - this is where a good manager (Martindale at Livi) is crucial to a club cos it doesn't really take that much one of us to end up as one of the bottom 2, potentially relegated and requiring to bounce back from the Championship at first attempt - in terms of potential there's not much between any of the Bottom7 and teams like Thistle, ICT or Falkirk - us Top Flight minnows live in fear.
