  1. Willy Wonka actor breaks silence on disastrous Willy’s Chocolate Experience | The Independent EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY PEOPLE.
  2. The BBC have been advertising Red Nose Day for several weeks. I've only just realised the point of it is that the specky gonk off the Repair Shop isn't actually him. A quite literally bad advert.
  3. (this is the trestle table with the cups of limeade on it)
  4. I don't normally post sales stuff but the complete Batman Arkham collection - Asylum, City and Knight - with all DLC is currently £6.49 on the PlayStation.

  6. If people looked at an advert, then looked at this website, then paid money to attend, then turned up, we as a species deserve everything we get if this is what's raising the current generation of children.
  7. New rule: If a pick dies on the 29th of February they get their age as points, not the usual score.
  8. Week 8 update One death this week, former Queens Park Rangers maverick Stan Bowles: Stan Bowles, QPR legend and former England international, dies at 75 | Football | The Guardian QPR also put up a nice tribute video: Is something lost from football in the age of professionalism and money, in that players like this don't and can't really exist any more? Probably. Bowles died at 75 so he's worth 50 Base Points for @Moomintroll. He also gets a Solo Shot bonus for a total of 100 points. As a result, the standings look like this: 1. mozam76 402 2. lolls 316 3. Billy Jean King 303 4. psv_killie 291 5. Ned Nederlander 282 6. lichtgilphead 279 7. Moomintroll 263 8. 9. Could've pointed out they played in Glasgow three times last year too.
  10. I assume Jum has done thorough and extensive research into similarly sized sensible set-ups in other countries and will be providing them in a follow-up tweet, rather than just farting out empty talking points under a guise of engagement.
  11. @KnightswoodBear good news, we've found someone on P&B with smaller hands than you.
  12. Getting concessions/funding from local governments to build stadiums/arena is a very North American thing. Usually it's done under threat of "I'll move the team to somewhere else that will give me all the concessions I want", and usually it's just a bargaining tactic and usually it works. I can only really relate to this through hockey arenas so here are the recent ones: Rogers Place - Wikipedia - built for the Edmonton Oilers as owned by billionaire Darryl Katz. Little Caesars Arena - Wikipedia - built for the Detroit Red Wings as owned by the billionaire Ilitch family. UBS Arena - Wikipedia - built for the New York Islanders as owned by... some guys. I can't actually figure out how much this cost or who paid for it, but 1.5 billion dollars seems the given amount. I imagine it's more expensive to build something in New York than it is in Edmonton or Detroit. Climate Pledge Arena - Wikipedia - rebuilt with a view to getting an NHL team and an NBA team - for reference the expansion fee for Seattle's NHL team was 650 million. https://www.seattlecenter.com/about/plans-and-projects/arena Those of an Arsenal persuasion may also like to know that the Kroenke family, despite owning about a dozen sports teams of various levels in Colorado, are also at it with attempts to get the city of Denver to pay for new developments in the city centre and around their venues. It's also worth remembering that these are effectively 20,000 capacity concert venues that happen to be able to support a sports team for 40-60 home dates a season, so there are a lot more opportunities to make money by hosting events than there would be at a football stadium. I think it's safe to say that the Monaco dwelling, 30 billion net worth Mr. Ratcliffe may find a much poorer appetite from both government and public to fund a stadium for the most valuable sports team in the world playing in the most valuable league in the world. Especially when one of his star players has a history of telling the government to not cut off free school meals for children.
  13. Rangers are angrier than Celtic, but only because they (mostly) have had more to be angry about over the past ~ten years. The most seething and weirdest P&B fanbases (and really what other objective measure of a fanbase is there?) are St. Mirren, Dundee, Morton and Falkirk.
  14. I used to post him whenever the Gazprom was on the telly with him commentating. Joey maintains that proud tradition.
  15. I'm paying an extra tenner to get a souvenir ticket because I'm an utter fucking mug.
  16. Alvvays at the Academy on Monday, PJ in Manchester on Tuesday, The Killers at the Hydro on Thursday. Hopefully I'll be deaf as well as skint. Good luck for tomorrow.
  17. I found this while trying to figure out how much the tickets are likely to cost: "No hyperbole, I think this is our best work" – Eddie Vedder claims Pearl Jam raised the bar on new album Dark Matter, but their 2024 tour ticket prices are soaring too | MusicRadar £17.50 in 2000. If you like a band, see them young.
  18. Only scoring one goal on 4giev should have been the cue to sell everything that wasn't nailed down.
