  1. Cheers. As you mentioned in your post, good to see young Taylor Steven get a goal. He was certainly due one for his all round play. Hopefully he can build on that.
  2. Thanks for the report Waspie. I again couldn't make the game. I think you're right re Roy - hopefully he's back next week. Would also be great to have one or more of Scougs, LD, Cammy and also Robbo ready for the next couple of games. How did Morgyn Neill do when he came on and where did he play?
  3. Some fans think any penalty awarded against them is soft if it stops short of gbh.
  4. Bet the dog loved having an elderly pal over.
  5. 8 * 10 mins = 1 hour 20 mins. So not necessarily.
  6. Salma Hayek in From Dusk to Dawn IMO.
  7. Not sure he's the GOAT (hate that anyway), but agree with everything else.
  8. It isn't really sycophancy. They are protecting their own interests to retain influence in the area including control of the oil. Having Israel onside is a crucial aspect of that. US leads and UK and the rest follow. Eta For the sake of clarity, I'm not saying I agree with that.
  9. Salmon always was an opportunistic w*nk. I'm not sure that's correct, but even if it is the use of VAR or any similar system was always going to be sh*te and any changes to it won't improve it significantly IMO. The very people who were crying out for something like VAR are those who are now criticising it most. It perpetuates the narrative that keeps them in a job/gets them likes on Twitter (as was), that "referees are sh*te".
  10. I think it's pretty clear what I've said - first quote above. I've also admitted I could be wrong. I'm not sure your argument (persistent fouling leading to a booking) is helpful or definitive at all. I think the correct phrase is persistently infringing the laws of the game. Again, I might be wrong as it's a while since I looked at the actual laws. Don't see it as a big deal either way tbh.
  11. There's no inconsistency. Whether a player is penalised for offside is a two part test; 1 - is the player in an offside position and 2 - is the player interfering with play/an opponent etc. Part 1 is checked and decided by VAR, who inform the ref. The ref then decides if the player should be penalised for being in an offside position by deciding part 2 himself. At least that's my understanding. I'm no expert on detailed VAR procedures and the detail of the offside law "may" have changed since I studied it in 1999 (although I don't think it has).
  12. To me being offside just means you are in an offside position. It doesn't say whether or not you are committing an offence (ie are also interfering with play, an opponent).
  13. Punch the birthday boy - three years old today.
  14. When I said committed the foul, I meant the offside foul. To me a foul is anytime a player commits an offence which is punishable by a free kick. I might be wrong in that view.
  15. Indeed, @craigkillie 's post is a very good summary. I also agree with you that we can't say it would definitely have been a goal if Hendrie hadn't committed the foul; likely would have, but we just don't know.
  16. I see from Facebook that Billy "Moose" Morrison has passed away. He was a key member of the side when I first started following Alloa (1975/76) and is one of my all-time favourite players. A real character. RIP Moose.
