  1. "Sena" has his qualities, but I couldn't see him being a regular starter at Falkirk.
  2. Great to see Gilomour doing so well recently. Hopefully he can continue to get a regular game and develop.
  3. I think it will be a competitive final either side could win. Before yesterday's game I would have said Hamilton's lack of goal power made Airdrie clear favourites, but their confidence in that area will have improved after banging in five against us.
  4. Excellent commentary. Some classic lines. Thanks again for providing this service, I certainly appreciate it and I'm sure many others do. Some further thoughts from the highlights: I think both yellows for Stanger are spot on. I'm sure he'll learn from that as both were needless and proved very costly. I think it's a red for the Hamilton keeper at the penalty. @Skyline Drifter has put forward a potential reason why it wasn't and, while I don't agree it wasn't DOGSO (I think Sammon has such an opportunity irrespective of Coulson being there), maybe that is indeed the ref's thinking. Brian Rice indeed does have a substantial job on his hands to build a better squad and side than we have had this year, and that has to be the aim. As has been pointed out, the league will likely be just as tough next season. I expect Falkirk to improve, we'll have either Airdrie or Hamilton and of course QotS and Cove Rangers among others. We'll likely lose Stanger and possibly Church IMO to full time clubs, Hogarth will go back to Rangers (although there might be a chance we can get him back, which would be good). I expect Miller will get a full time deal after leaving Rangers We also have a handfull of stalwarts who are not getting any younger (Andy, Robbo, Kev and Sammo) and while I expect, and hope, all of these will be at the club next season, we do need to make an effort to bring in younger genuine challengers for their positions who can replace them in the next season or two. Also, @LeodhasXD any chance of putting up the mutual applause between the Alloa fans and players, if it was captured on film?
  5. BTW, can't wait to hear how @Kevchenko and @KierenAAFC try and make sense of that game in the Wasps Nest podcast.
  6. Indeed. It would be good if we could we could keep Andy on as part of the coaching staff with a view to giving him a shot as manager when Rice moves on. A lot will depend on whether Andy wants to keep playing. Will he want to drop down a league or two so he can get a regular game?
  7. Don't forget Wee Kev's (#legend) testimonial on 24th June!
  8. I acknowledge you are 100% entitled to your opinion, Magic Hat.
  9. I felt a real sense of pride applauding the players off. There were a good number of fans who stayed behind at the final whistle to do that. I hope the players appreciated it.
  10. I get you don't like Brian Rice and/or the style of football we have sometimes played under him, but from an objective viewpoint getting us into the playoffs is clearly a good achievement.
  11. Will be interesting to see the highlights, but maybe the pen is given for the first attempt?
  12. That would be a big blow. I was assuming he had work commitments on Tuesday. I suppose with recently having joined the fire service he might be restricted in when he could take his holidays. Having both Scougs and Church fit would be a major plus. I expect the former will be, but the latter won't. Strachan certainly looked gubbed, but you just never know. I wonder if we'll go back to three centre backs if Church and Strachan out, with Andy G coming in and O'Donnell left wing back? If we can get a midfield three of Scougs, Miller and Kev starting then I'd be reasonably confident of getting the job done, but it's still a big ask. Either way, don't think the players will let us down effort wise.
  13. I can do it for 3.5 seconds.
  14. Also wanted to say, kudos to Ross McIver filing in on the left of the midfield three when Adam King went off. Did just fine there. I thought Cammy O'Donnell was the obvious sub to come on for that position, but Brian Rice surprised me again.
  15. I'll bring mine, m8. I'm 63 with two dodgy knees a bad back, but f*** it, I'm in! You and @Waspie have summed up the game pretty well. Thought it was a tremendous effort from a depleted squad tonight; no failures and everyone giving 100 %. Some shifts from LD, Devine (agree he was outstanding) and others who don't have a lot of game time. Hopefully Durnan and Scougs are available on Saturday; that would make a huge difference IMO. Really enjoyed the game. The dream is still on here, especially with the Falkirk result.
  16. I wish I'd never seen that.
  17. As he was just sick, although apparently quite badly, then he may have recovered. Major plus if he has.
  18. Indeed. I'm curious to understand why it "makes more sense"?
