What a carry on over a piss poor match handled by piss poor officials. Kilbirnie had strikers Longworth and Ramsay out while Pollok were missing Dallas ( a tidy player ) and wee Fordy went off early doors and the lack of firepower showed as both teams struggled in front of goal. Neither penalties looked correct and when the ref first attempted to book Mitchell then went for the ginger headed Kelly he really didn't have a clue ffs lol. Excellent save from the pen and the keeper also had a good save from a Scullion free kick. Think a draw would have been a fair result much like the match at Kilbirnie would have been but both teams sneaked a home win so happy enough with that. Anybody know what the attendance was ?

Burbidge was utter drivel at Kilbirnie...when he bothered showing up. Not one for criticising players but he is an exception.

Darvel Legend is/was a wind up merchant and a lot of his sarcasm is lost on a lot of posters. He is a long time genuine junior man who has suffered some horrific times supporting his club , he is now wallowing in the belief that times are changing and the future at last is bright. He could be a tad more reserved about it lol but when he ends his posts with ' good luck to your club for rest of season ' he genuinely means it , he wants every junior club to progress. Darvel becoming a success doesn't need to be at the expense of other clubs. Honestly don't believe Mick Kennedy would have given up what he had created at Colville ( who are now in serious danger of folding ) to come work with a clown that most folk believe DL to be.

Kilbirnie had Forde on loan then permanently signed from Stranraer. Good wee player all left foot ,you know he will never go onto his right foot always cuts inside onto his left always takes two or three touches but packs some power into his shooting. Darren Miller set up a good few goals for him when they played together for Ladeside. He will want a good wage that's for sure Ladeside couldn't really afford to keep him and he chose to go to Pollok.. that's fitba.

Kennie needs to take another look see if he can help out a bit here far too many away matches not enough income. Kilbirnie have 3 aways on the spin in October which am no too happy about but this is not unnecessary.

Once seen him score 4 in 20 minutes for Shortlees. His ability is undoubted but said previously having known about him since Hurlford Thistle you done well to get him to sign as his temperament and commitment sadly affect what could have been a very promising career.

Matt should have got West Region fixture secretary post instead of the hapless Robertson.

If you are meaning best squad since Scottish final team then fair enough. However if I remember correctly Darvel beat Shotts on route to Scottish final yet lost to them recently . Darvel were a fantastic team back then especially at home run by really nice people. Can remember getting a pie knocked out my hand by the ball and the president Dempsey/Dempster ? went and replaced it. Was at recent friendly and imo Meggat , Perry , Miller might have gotten a match back then but no current Ladeside player would have got a game for Kilbirnie in those days. All about opinions you obviously seen more of Darvel over the years than me just wonder if your dad would agree with your assessment. No matter what people think of you on here your love for the club is obvious if Darvel do have success then you rightly should claim your part in it.

Bankies deserved the win could have been more with miss when through on goal. Then again it took a great goaline clearance to stop Craig making it 3-1 Kilbirnie...could have been different then perhaps but Bankies controlled most of game so no complaints. Plenty about Ladeside defending though

As a player he was defo better than junior level. When he was at Kilbirnie could be very intolerant towards guys he thought were not at his level , when he was fit he was exceptional , good player , great driving force. Perhaps he does feel his playing CV should warrant a higher managerial job. Remember speaking to him when he was doing some defensive coaching at Glenafton , very intense could come across as a crabbit character but think it's just his winning mentality.

Put it this way Darvel SHOULD win league with talent available if they don't it's a failure. Kennedy is no mug he knows the pressure is on him everybody especially DL has placed massive faith in him.

Whits Girvan got to do with it Darvel fans can't have it both ways they are saying they are a better team with bunch of ex ammies this season so must agree that bunch of ex ammies would have beaten their team last season or else why get rid of the players Darvel had last season. Haxton is on his 4th junior club he's a junior no an ammie. Miller is way above ammie level nearly as many clubs as tattoos. Darvel will win the league cause they have better players than other clubs in division no matter where they came from.

Baillie and Deano were cracking players with tons of knowledge of the game. Takes time to get ideas across. When Liam McGuiness took over at Kilbirnie they were losing 6 to Largs and Hurlford then things turned and he kept us up and the club is progressing well. They will be fine given time.

Chris Craig scored winner against Pollok yesterday....from Ammies to top level juniors no problem to him. Colville would have beaten Darvel last season , no pub players for them.

Maybe but that goes against the total football philosophy promoted by the manager lol. Get MacDonald to pull the boots on.

Having seen Darvel against Kilbirnie have no doubts they will eventually win the league. Have a lot of players who are playing below their level and perhaps are trying too hard to get promoted too quick. Lack of focus can be a problem when you know you are better than the opposition. The amount of goals conceeded is maybe a reflection on that. The manager tbf never once said it would be easy and a learning curve for everybody involved.

Did Irvine Celtic not play at your ground before the current club took over and named themselves after the ground...Meadow.

Lack of security could be an issue in juniors. Lack of linesman at a lot of games could be an issue. Refs at this level need to note number off , number on they really have little time to make sure the fella that went off other side of pitch Is not being harassed by bunch of Buckie boys and their hairy dug as he makes way round the parameter. Decisions made by top brass of fitba really are for top level of fitba little consideration is made regarding its implications at grass roots.
