I don't understand the logic of saying we shouldn't sign a good player because he used to play for us and the existing squad has bad players in it? Sibbald is a no brainer if he's willing to sign for us. He's been a really good player in a top flight team for years and is the sort who can win you matches. A midfield three of McGinn keeping things ticking over, a younger player going box to box and Sibbald pulling the strings is mouth watering. Not quite on the same level but this reminds me of moon howlers on here turning their nose up at Kingsley when we were linked with him. Over-thinking things massively. Won't matter anyway as Sibbs will get a better move than us and will be a standout in the league above.

Got the bus into work this morning given the train strikes and I was hugely impressed with the driver. Not only did he take us all between bus stops, he collected payment or checked passes for every passenger, managed his speed accordingly and even used a steering wheel. Even if you get the permission to have 1,200 capacity with the standing round the pitch, I'm not sure how that would constitute big travelling supports. You'd be looking at 800 max away support for 4 games? An extra four or five grand across the 4 matches versus setting it at a more reasonable 15/16 quid doesn't seem a lot in comparison to pissing off your regulars or potential walk up Hearts/Hibs fans.

I think I'm in a minority in both of these views but McGuffie isn't a world beater but he created a few goals last year and would be a passable starter if we're struggling to shift bodies going out the door. I'd rather have him as an option of the bench but would be fine with him wide in a midfield 4 or 5 if need be. Morrison to me is 10x more effective playing as a central striker where he can get his head down and drive right at defenders. He presses well from the front and is a total pest against some of the bigger slower centre backs we come up against. I'd be fine with him as a starter up top with a partner in a 4-4-2.
