  1. John Lennon was no stranger to a Noraid collection tin allegedly.
  2. According to them they are only enforcing EU sanctions so seriously doubt they did that unilaterally. The Russian trains are still moving normally with everything else AFAIA. Could be more a case of Vlad ratcheting up the pressure on NATO just as HIMARS was about to arrive.
  3. What exactly were MI6 playing at with Give Ireland back to the Irish or were Wings not part of the psyop?
  4. There's a reason why NATO isn't backing down over Ukraine. What's potentially next up on the shopping list after Ukraine and Moldova in terms of putting the Russian Empire back together crosses red lines that could go thermonuclear much more easily.
  5. Apparently the larger Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones that are equivalent to a javelin anti-tank weapon are only now on their way to Ukraine so that could be bad news incoming for Putin as well: The chat on twitter a few weeks back was that using them to go after train locomotives could really mess with Russian logistics. The smaller Switchblade 300s are typically described as equivalent to a hand grenade and therefore unlikely to do much damage to anything armoured like a tank.
  6. Usually the senior team is expected to be financially self-supporting to avoid that criticism. That ultimately leads to the BSC and Rossvale scenario once it becomes clear that few if any players are coming through from the youth teams so the two groups decouple from each other.
  7. Why not change your name to Third Lanark so you can threaten to move back to Cathkin if the new stand doesn't get built? You'll always really be Postal United.
  8. Maybe but would most Third Division clubs be any stronger in that department?
  9. Says something that a licensed club would willingly want to drop from tier 6 in the shape of the SoS to tier 10 in the shape of this division to play against a collection of amateur and youth clubs rather than former west region teams.
  10. Net gain of one in the north in the shape of Lossie United, net loss of one in the east with Syngenta and Fauldhouse out but Harthill in, in the west there are Royal Albert, Bellshill, Darvel and Glencairn back in but Pollok, Harthill out so I make that a net gain of two overall on info we have so far. Forth, Neilston and Whitletts Vics who have been mentioned in the thread were already out in 2021-22. Nothing to get hugely worked up about in either direction so far in other words.
  11. Easy enough to run the bottom tier as conferences so it was a solution to a non-existant problem.
  12. Biden & Co appear to have been highly reluctant to supply HIMARS because they weren't sure how Putin would respond. Hence all the stuff about kamikaze drones instead, which the Ukrainians appear to do better themselves anyway judging from the recent oil refinery attack near Rostov. Suspect that means HIMARS needed to be introduced slowly with it being made crystal clear to Vlad that none of the longer range capabilities were involved but once their presence has become the new normal numbers will no doubt be ramped up if the Ukrainians are effective at taking out important targets with the initial batch. We'll know if that's happening over the next few weeks.
  13. Won't be long until we start hearing whether HIMARS is helping the Ukrainians more than the much hyped but apparently not particularly game changing Switchblade and Phoenix Ghost kamikaze drones: Other people are skeptical that the above was actually HIMARS because the Ukrainians have been a lot more active with their remaining longer range Tochka missiles recently knowing HIMARS is on the way.
  14. How likely are they to make it past the qualifying rounds? Doubt it makes much difference. Orkney vs Newton Stewart is a fixture to look forward to though, especially if it gets postponed and they have to play it on the next available weeknight.
  15. I'll hazard a guess at the proceeds of recreational pharmaceutical products.
  16. They were knocked out by Lochee United last season: https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/3654975/banks-odee-exit-scottish-junior-cup-lochee-united/ so it was left to Dyce to put in an unusually strong run for a North region club instead. Think it's safe to assume that only the new Banks o Dee JFC will be in this time around but that's technically a separate club rather than a reserve team in terms of how player registrations get handled apparently.
  17. If FitbaNorth is to be believed the sum involved was £30,000.
  18. Couldn't care less what you do, if you have nothing positive to contribute.
  19. All seven post are directly relevant to the competition that the SJFA members in the west enter and to the association that they are a part of so you are talking nonsense with that. Maybe you are the one that needs to learn how messageboards work. You don't get to dictate what other people decide to post.
  20. Safe to assume it would have long since happened if there weren't. Main problem from what I have read about it is that because the Beeching era cuts closed Edinburgh Princes Street, there are severe capacity issues with the tunnels into Waverely. A lot of the business case for trams revolved around the need to build an alternative path through Princess Street for any additional suburban rail services. Following on from that the line was always intended mainly for freight to bypass Waverley so it takes too long in both directions to start heading south or north to compete against buses into or out of the city centre, so the more sensible way ahead would probably be to add extra tram lines that follow routes that would attract the most additional passenger traffic.
  21. Maybe the Chechen Republic and Tatarstan amongst others should have the same ability to leave the Russian Federation that Scotland has in a UK context?
  22. Too late for Zolote and Hirske but will be interesting to see how much of a difference HIMARS makes:
