  1. By "whole country" he means England of course. You don't have to be a political scientist to know that this persistent rhetoric from UK Labour is just to appeal to the English heartlands. "Scottish Labour" are just an irrelevant branch office filled with "messenger boys" on their behalf. It's time for them to cut ties with UK Labour officially and finally grow a spine and speak for themselves. Anas Sarwar and Jackie Baillie come across as wishful bootlickers and next in line to join in the footsteps of George Foulkes, Jack McConnell and Baroness Ruth.
  2. Quite telling (but not at all surprising) seeing the reaction to the prospect of an Indyref2 from the mainstream media platforms and its opponents. Rather than make the positive case for remaining in the Union (there isn't one), the opposition are flat out denying democracy. And taking EVERY measure possible to avoid a referendum taking place; that's an odd way of showing how absolutely certain you are of the result. I couldn't vote in the last referendum as I was abroad, but of course I would vote Yes next time.
  3. With you there. And I know it's early days yet and that we've played against "weaker" opposition, but I think the new CB, Sam Denham looks like a good addition.
  4. This. The season ticket prices are nothing short of an absolute disgrace and simply cannot ever be justified. I actually hope the club get the message and that the sales are disastrous. Arguably the worst ground in the league, for atmosphere, for away days and match-day experience, lack of "quality" signings, mass exodus of key players, just been relegated and yet they charge those prices for season tickets? The board simply don't have a clue.
  5. 2-1 loss to Spartans due to conceding two late goals. Pre-season going swimmingly well then....
  6. Quite like that. Shame about the sponsor taking up about 70% of entire jersey.
  7. £8 for entrance to the Spartans match on Saturday. I thought £5 against Strollers was pushing it.
  8. 1st half; it was a mix of contracted players along with a few trialists. Stand out performance was the left back (Williamson) who was excellent and I would have him signed immediately right after the match. Also I was very impressed with the new CB Sam Denham. Seems to enjoy having the ball at his feet and is always looking to take the ball forward. Rabin Omar played on both wings who I thought was just OK. Takes a cracking corner but I wasn't overly impressed. I was surprised to find myself thinking that Liam Newton looked well of the pace and thought Brogan Walls looked more comfortable. And lastly, Scott Shephard shows signs of a hard-worker with a bit of pace about him but certainly not the strongest at holding the ball up which we're desperately lacking. Overall, we completely dominated in terms of possession but very, very little to show up front hence going into HT 0-0. Contracted players; Smith, Mercer, Steele, Millar all featured in the 1st half and they were all OK. They pretty much picked up where they left off last season. No sign of Gallacher, Slattery, Murdoch, McManus, Healy, Trouten. Although I heard Trouten was in the stands last night and returned from holiday only yesterday. 2nd half; it was a mix of the same trialists and A LOT of the youngsters. I thought they started off really brightly, knocking the ball around nicely. The trialist that scored I believe was ex-EF player Lewis Baker's younger brother. Headed home from a corner. Not much else happened in the 2nd half other than the clumsy challenge in the last minute of the match to give them a penalty to equalise. Stand-out in the 2nd half for me was the player on the left wing with blue boots on. (Adam Mansouri?). If the youngsters want to feature in the senior squad next season then they're going to have to "beefen up" quickly. Looked more like an u13's squad at times. Crawford needs to bring in a tall, physical, strong striker before the season kicks off.
  9. Be interesting to see what's in store for us tomorrow night. Suspect it will consist of many trialists/youngsters being given the chance to earn a contract.
  10. Desperate times do call for desperate measures!
  11. Christ, what a grim season this is going to be.
  12. Who and where are we playing? Fans (what's left of them) able to go and watch?
  13. I'd like to know as well. I would be surprised if it was anything more than 50-60 season ticket sales. Shambolic and frankly shameful pricing from the club.
  14. Well, putting bitterness to one side, there can be no doubt that he's still a reasonably capable player at this level. I'm sure he'll take this opportunity to re-set and start over again. But what I will say is, he's reached a point in his career where he will only play how HE wants to play with very little (if hardly any) regard or interest to what anyone else tells him. It's all about him, his attitude absolutely stinks and we'll be better off without him. Though it pains me to say, I'm already confident he'll score a couple against us next season.
  15. https://www.s4c.cymru/en/press/post/51032/s4c-to-continue-coverage-of-welsh-national-football-team/ So here's the confirmation that S4C (Wales BBC) ARE indeed showing each of their Nations League and EURO qualifier matches. Why on earth can BBC Scotland/STV not have the same deal? I'm finding it difficult to believe that UEFA are solely responsible here. The SFA must have had a say in this somewhere?
  16. Apologies if this has been covered already, but I understand (unless I'm mistaken) that the Wales game tonight is being broadcasted over S4C Digital which is free to watch. Does this apply to all Welsh nations leagues matches? If so, in addition to Channel 4 broadcasting England matches, why in the name of Christ are Scotland fans being screwed over for having to pay an extra subscription fee just to watch their matches? Can somebody explain who is most responsible for this?
  17. I was thinking the same thing. I found myself hoping that every single Scotland player was watching that and realising what could or perhaps should have been. I just find it beyond infuriating that Wales (a country with almost half the population of Scotland) will be heading to the World Cup and we're stuck at home yet again. Plenty of quality on Wales' bench as well, who can change a game.
  18. I agree with most of that. I just respectfully disagree with Hickey being the 2nd best option if Patterson is unavailable. Ralston clearly has the physicality and at least has some ability to drive forward down the flanks. The number of times Hickey was hesitant to drive down the wing to whip in some crosses from his (weak) side was evident, infuriating but not surprising, and Clarke should have addressed this sooner.
  19. I wouldn't say it's an "obsession". It just makes more sense to play him, an ACTUAL right-sided defender (with the 2nd highest number of assists and completed passes in the SPFL, 2nd only to Tavernier) instead of simply chucking in a LWB in there and hoping for the best.
  20. I thought Clarke's biggest mistake was starting an internationally inexperienced LWB at RWB when you had Ralston/O'Donnell available. I'm sure it was a gamble from Clarke but that was just ludicrous. By all means do that if Kieran Tierney was in the squad to balance out the back-line a bit but not when he's absent.
  21. We lost to a far FAR better team and people really do need to get over it. Hope Ukraine pump Wales.
  22. Odds on Robbo picking up an injury tonight after Madrid pump them again?
