  1. I'm looking at these two from the perspective of which I'd rather lose against. And that would be Austria. Losing to Wales in a potential final would be insufferable.
  2. Squad is more or less what I expected. But I can't ignore that we have 4 left backs in there. I wonder if they will experiment at playing Hickey at RWB? SoD has been awful domestically and Patterson has had next to zero playing time.
  3. Feeling uncharacteristically optimistic this morning. 2-1 EF.
  4. Feel for the lad. Don't think he actually did anything wrong in the match against Boreham Wood. And it's never easy to go into what was effectively their reserve squad and be able to stand out as well as he could with a closer to starting XI. Not that I'm defending Lampard or anything, but I suspect that from their perspective, in their situation, the stakes are now too high to simply throw in an untested, inexperienced lad in the team. Mind you, couldn't do much worse than Coleman who's a shadow of the player he used to be and has been for some time now.
  5. That would be a bit humiliating for Nathan Patterson, but I'd actually give it a go particularly if he continues to fail to break into this abysmal Everton side.
  6. I think this is only a "relegation decider" if East Fife fail to win the 3 points. Credit where it's due, I think Crawford and his coaching staff have done a decent job of improving our back-line in recent weeks, but we're still sorely and desperately lacking that clinical finish in the final third. Hopefully the young, Hearts loanee Finlay Pollock is fit and can offer something we've been missing. Under the knowledge that we've only been beaten once in the last six matches and that we've very gradually been catching up on them, I suspect Dumbarton may choose to play it safe and play for a draw to keep the gap as it is, which is why I'm predicting yet another goalless draw. Hoping for a good game, nonetheless. Plus it's great to see that the EF community club have donated a whopping 300 tickets to local parents and their children to attend the match tomorrow. Hope they have a great day out!
  7. Independence hasn't been achieved yet. What were you expecting? A referendum bill is expected to come through parliament sometime in April and should we vote Yes, an economic plan will be revisited as with many other things.
  8. I left "Scottish Labour" long since before 2014 for obvious reasons, but this is just utterly disgraceful. How much lower can they sink? I'm genuinely depressed to hear some people insist that Labour are still a party worth voting for in Scotland.
  9. Exactly this, couldn't have put it better myself. Embarrassing from Clyde FC.
  10. Yes. He should be as far away from the squad as possible.
  11. Very dispiriting for us non SSC members. Monday, shortly after 10am, is going to be a right sickener for those who missed out.
  12. One job Falkirk, you had one job. Now you'll end up playing a blinder this weekend and absolutely rinse us.
  13. I thought for the first 15-20 mins we were very much on top. We luckily got the lead through what was the funniest own-goal I've ever witnessed. Cracking finish for QP's equaliser, but disappointing from our POV. Nobody clearing the ball or closing players down. Rest of the game was all pretty much QP and I thought it would only be a matter of time before QP would go on to score a couple but thankfully not. Well done us. A very welcome point against a fairly strong team. But I have to say for a full-time outfit, QP are not really that great.
  14. Ticket only, I believe. You can scan the QR code from your phone. I really want to believe that last week's surprise win over Alloa can kick-start a winning run for us but I think coming up against QP has come a little too soon and will prove too strong for us. Hope to be proven wrong. I haven't really paid close attention to QP or any of the top half of the table this season. Would take a draw now if other results go our way.
  15. There's too little time left in the season for Crawford to continue experimenting with the team line up. It. Doesn't. Work. I think it's time to get back to the basics, select a standard formation (4-4-2 or 3-5-2) and then objectively select the *best* players for every position and stick with the line up. *= fittest, quickest, strongest, hungriest. etc. It doesn't matter if Alloa haven't been on great form lately, I'm not in the least bit confident that this group of players can pull something out of the hat.
  16. So with 12 games left to go, 8 points behind 9th place and yet to register a single goal in 2022, I'm not sure there's a single EF fan left who thinks we can still get out of this? So for all the optimists out there (if there are indeed any), from now until the end of the season, what do we think could give us the best chance of escaping this? For me, I've been (and I still am) very critical of the seemingly constant rotation of the squad every damn week. I can accept that the injuries haven't helped, but that excuse only goes so far, and it surely can't be doing the players any favours whatsoever. We've now gone two matches without conceding which is probably the only positive and only sign of progress we've made since Crawford has taken over. So for me, the back four has to remain as it is as much as possible until the end of the season. With regards to the midfield/attack, the biggest issue we have, even this late on in the season, is being unable to identify what our most effective midfield/attack is. For me I'd like to see us go with a defensive 4-5-1 that can interchange to an attacking 4-3-3 with our two wingers willing to press and drop back when necessary. 3 midfielders Millar, Blair and Newton along with Jack Healy and Darren Watson on the wings (both young, quick and hungry) and stick with Connell up top. I haven't been impressed with Ryan Wallace for a while now, he seems distracted and Kevin Smith, I do love the guy, but he's getting on a bit now and painfully slow.
  17. Brought in a couple of loanees, Leo Watson (left-back Hearts) and local-boy Darren Watson (attacker Dundee Utd). Plus Ryan Blair (midfielder) from East Kilbride. Early days still for the loanees. Think Leo Watson is just OK, if slightly underwhelming, and Darren Watson only came on against Peterhead last weekend for the last 15 mins or so. Hard to tell if he's more of a natural striker or a winger (where he ended up playing). He looks quick but that's all that I can say. Nothing for Clyde to fret about, lets put it that way. Ryan Blair has come in and looks the kind of midfielder who likes to keep possession of the ball rather than just resort to booting the ball away, but nothing much else to his game. It'll be intriguing to see how Clyde fare without their key man DGW. Can see this ending as another goal-less draw. But the games are running out now and we really ought to start winning games against those clubs hovering above us.
  18. Given the justified furious reaction, surely a U-turn is imminent? What the hell were the club thinking here?
  19. Despite the result, I thought the performance at the weekend was a massive improvement from recent weeks. It does still feel like a missed opportunity to pick up a point or 3 as I thought we handled Falkirk quite easily until the sending off. If we can cut out those stupid mistakes and keep up that hunger and desire for the rest of the season, and hope that results elsewhere go in our favour, there's still a chance (albeit VERY slim) that we can climb off the bottom spot. As it stands, it would be devastating for the club to miss out on League 1 next season with potential 'moneyspinner' Fife derbies between Kelty/Dunfermline. Does anyone know if the coaches are actively pursuing bringing in new players or are they just focussing on bringing the best out of the players that we've got? One of the major issues seems to be sticking with a strongest starting XI. They need to find that sooner rather than later because the constant rotation of the squad week-in week-out clearly isn't doing us any favours.
  20. For Falkirk, anything less than a 5-0 win against us would be pretty poor. (Dowds, obviously nailed on to score at least a couple). As for us, I just get the distinct impression that the senior players are past caring now, with last weekend being the final straw (same goes for the fans). Quite happy to turn up and pick up their wages until the end of the season before they inevitably buggering off elsewhere. I'd be surprised if there were any more than 200 EF fans in attendance tomorrow. Reckon it's time for Crawford/McDonald to utilise the youth/loan players, bring them into the starting XI and show us what they can do. They could certainly do with the experience before we start our League 2 campaign next season. EF 0 Falkirk 7
  21. I despair. Is this some kind of parody? The Labour Party are utterly, utterly useless.
  22. Pathetically poor streaming service from Peterhead TV. Hasn't changed since last time.
