    Had completely missed that Barnes had joined Newcastle. Fee paid for him is mind boggling. Still would be a grat signing for Scotland.

    Will be tough for the Three Lions to come to Hampden and get a result against Europe's form team. It will be great for them to test themselves against the Group A Nations League elite. Scotland should avoid being complacent - England will be treating it like their World Cup Final.

    Much more competitive now- breakup of Yugoslavia and USSR resulted in teams like Serbia, Croatia and Ukraine which have been clearly better than Scotland for all but the last 2 years.
