I'm assuming he would regret criticising it because he's just contradicted himself by saying that he's fine with PIF pouring money into golf. McIlroy turning down 100m probably doesn't matter as much as someone ranked at 227 in the world turning down the LIV millions to stay loyal to the PGA. I'm not surprised he was able to be bought off as well though

There's talk about lawsuits against the PGA by players who didn't jump ship. But PIF have unlimited funds - this fact also explains why the PGA have taken the money as they couldn't afford to fight continuous lawsuits. Eventually the players protesting loudest will get bought off anyway. I have no doubt there wil be a token protest at the Canadian Open but the US open will come around and it will all be forgotten. The same way noone was talking about human rights abuses by the time Messi was holding the World Cup trophy.
