  1. What does Alex salmonds wife think about the air strikes?
  2. You might as well have a vote on whether the party should back the poll tax.
  3. The democracy will happen with the vote in parliament.
  4. I'm not entirely sure it is a positive that MPs have to lie through their back teeth for the sake of maintaining a mirage of party unity.
  5. I'd be stunned if a group of MPs that contains tasmina Ahmed sheikh and mhairi black doesn't agree on everything.
  6. Anyone that doesn't go anywhere because of nasty terrorists but drives or walks on a pavement at the side of a road is a simpleton.
  7. principle remains the same, they are hardly in the same league as Murray. They are the kinda player Murray beats with his eyes closed in the last 16 of a grand slam.
  8. Given Andy has won SPOTY before, it would be nice if Jamie was nominated instead. The best player Andy has beaten in the Davis cup this year is Gilles Simon, good, but hardly the next Bjorn Borg. The doubles have been the most important aspect IMO. I don't think Andy or Jamie will win anyway, personally think it's between Ennis and fury, probably Ennis.
  9. The more coverage is given to millionaires greeting about doscrimination, the less is given to discrimination, sexual racial etc. That actually matters a f**k.
  10. by being a tory and agreeing with the SNP.
  11. Soubry winding up the SNP was quite funny tbh.
  12. Question times in northern Ireland are horrific. They should just broadcast them in NI.
  13. the problem with those countries isnt that their tourism industries are disasters or, indeed that they have poor manufacturing sectors. It's that their governments, particularly Greece, were spending money like it was going out of fashion.
  14. Other service related industries like tourism are the answer, not manufacturing stuff that can be made cheaper elsewhere.
  15. Exactly the same would apply if a big call centre closed. Manufacturing is no different from any other industry in this regard.
  16. probably because Bragg's question doesn't mean anything- get a job somewhere else or retrain is probably the answer. The service sector is massive, over 70% of people are employed there compare to manufacturing which is less than 10 % iirc (according to 2011 census so itll be lower now). In any case ( this was 5 years ago) Britain was still the 6th biggest manufacturer in the world. It's just completely inefficient to pay a british person £7 an hour to do something that a Chinese person will do for £2 or whatever.
  17. Dugdale dismissing the prospect of the Tories getting more votes than labour in may with laughter looks very foolish.
  18. The difference between keith brown and dugdale sums up the difference between labour and the SNP. Dugdale making an absolute arse of it whilst brown being nothing spectacular but perfectly adequate.
  19. So far I get the feeling dugdale is doing her best not to mention the SNP. She's a fucking disaster though.
  20. Pity the SNP couldn't find anyone apart from the teaboy to put up for question time in Edinburgh.
  21. I suspect the reason joining fees still exist is that the members paid them, so they are unlikely to allow others not to. In general, far too few golf courses see themselves as businesses trying to attract customers.
  22. Has strichener said the safeword yet?
  23. Yes, lib dems don't have any fptp seats in mainland Scotland.
  24. Dugdale said that being a supporter of independence was not incompatible with support for labour. She said it in a speech last week I think- on phone so can't post link. I'd be utterly amazed if anyone joined the labour party because they wanted to preserve the union anyway.
  25. It's quite clear that English football needs the old firm, bringing box office stars like James Forrest with them
