  1. Just out of curiosity there I reached out to the young team asking the story behind the drum.
"we stopped talking it because two fans had an hearing issue and because of the noise of the drum they couldn’t go to the games anymore so we stopped so they could come back"
I think a lot of credit should go them for being so understanding and thinking of others like that and making that decision.
I love the young team making noise. To me that's football. I'm almost embarrassed how quiet it can be down there sometimes.
That being said the young ultras were different class today and sang for the full 90 without a drum and still managed to create a good atmosphere.
So maybe that's the happy medium for all parties.
    Were they in tune but?
  2. The 1.3 diesel by any chance?

A friend has sold his to a mechanic after years of it cutting out whilst driving around.

Its suspected to be the fuel manifold pressure sensor but it's been in 2 garages about 3 times each.

    I drive a Vauxhall Astra.
Engine Management light needed to be turned of for the MOT, now a fail if on.
Cost me £250,  170 of it for the part.
Passed MOT two weeks ago and came back on again today.
Don't know whether to take it back to Mechanic or wait untill near next MOT date to get it sorted.
The EML's are notoriously hard to keep off at times.

  3. I don't mind Kyle Hutton too much, if he's given a role that suits him. I don't think he's attacking minded enough to be an attacking or advanced midfielder and that protecting centre backs should be his remit.

Not playing wide in a 3 or 4 man midfield.

I think he's good in a set role and just now he's being asked to do something in the team he's not suited to.

He also gets brownie points with me for playing through injury last year.

All that said, I'd rather 1 Gary Harkins than 2 Kyle Huttons, every day of the week.

  4. I don't remember Colin Hosie putting it in exactly those words, but reading between the lines that's what's happening.

I'm quite content for the board to take care of the club at the expense of the league. There should have been more consideration of where the money was going when we were enjoying the wealth of the championship.

Just looking back at the summary from the Q&A with the club.
    What's everyone's thought on this :
"Duffy believes that we have the 2nd lowest budget in League One. The club doesnt agree but acknowledges that the budget has been set at an affordable level because they won't risk the club's financial stability"
Are we wanting to be more ambitious or are we glad that budgets are being strict so we have a club in years to come?
  5. What was that then, I don’t always pick up the chants of the young ones
I think they changed Voulez Vous to fit in praise of their centre back, Hartley?

Quite impressive because of the pace of the song, must have spent a long time behind chip shops practising.

  6. I'm all for helping the club but they really aren't helping themselves just now.

You can't just say "We know we are selling overpriced crap but please buy it anyway because we are skint! Thank You!"

It would not have been difficult to ask fans to vote on a handful of kit designs, not that they should need to as it is well known that the vast majority of fans want a simple white kit with a gold and black band.

I think it's accepted that if you want a local team, high street or newsagent to be there you need to support it. There's often a premium to pay.

If you go to a coffee morning or a fund raiser, you don't quality check the raffle prizes or cakes, or at least I don't. I'm there to support the event/group, even if it means paying for a bag of empire biscuits made by a 6 year old.

Feel free to volunteer to help the club and trust out. If you don't know who to ask, message me and I'll give you some names.
  7. Despite being unsure if I have the bottle to watch them, are there any "highlights" from last night's game?
    Can you laugh at tragedy?

If you have a sense of humour, aye go for it. It was ridiculous, I only hope the highlights capture all the mistakes leading up to the goals to appreciate their full entertainment value.
  8. I didn't mind the queue for the ticket, what I thought was odd was coming out of the car park I was directed back to the left and by the ticket office to go through the tunnel and find the main road. Seemed a pointless diversion past pedestrians when the car park exit is so close to the main road.

Not really any point in putting that shambles into words tonight.

So what about the other aspects of the evening?

Referee awful. Why there were shrieks at some
of his decisions from the Morton fans I don’t know, he gave them everything, not that any of his decisions had any bearing on the result
    or score whatsoever.

Having to queue to get a ticket was as frustrating as it was preposterous. Why on earth did a game like this need to be ticketed as opposed to pay at the gate?? Madness

No cold drinks at the shop at half time other than Capri suns. Awful.

Pie was decent taste-wise although lukewarm, poor stuff.

At least the weather was nice and the stewards wishing fans a safe journey home was a nice touch at the end.

  9. Need to give Morton some credit, they hounded us and pressed everything meaning we had virtually no time to lift our heads and play a composed pass. At least 2 of the goals came directly from Morton putting pressure on and us making a mistake.

At the back, Morton had it easy with Brian McLean and Peter Grant strolling through the game against a physically much smaller Tierney.

We lined up a 4-4-1-1 I think with McLuskey supporting Tierney, then changed to a 4-1-4-1 with McMillan doing the holding midfield role when he came on.

    That was terrible.

Langan was a ghost, big Neill was shocking and Brennan was all over the place. So many goals caused by mistakes in one game.

Here's hoping that some team consistency and game time will improve things.
  10. Brabco have nothing to do with it I think. The club board set the budget and deal with all the day to day operational stuff as I understand it.

The club need to give Duffy a budget that matches their expectations, or vice versa. If what the club have given Duffy isn't enough to keep the likes of Bobby or seagal then perhaps their and our expectations need to change. Unless the hope was always to stay in this league and nothing more.
