  1. Tartan special or Belhaven 80/- would have been my first pint (around 20p) if I remember right. I quickly moved onto half of beer and a bottle of stout. I think we called them half-and-halfs, but maybe I'm miss-remembering.
  2. Airdrie 0 - 1 Peterhead Falkirk 2 - 0 Raith Forfar 3 - 0 Dumbarton Montrose 0 - 1 Clyde Stranraer 1 - 1 East Fife
  3. 6 foot in height. Soon to be 6 foot in depth
  4. Yes I’m hitting everything so much more dependably since I took some more lessons. I had 2 iffy drives that weren’t disastrous and say 6 times where I didn’t get on the green in regulation but some of those I chipped and putted. My irons from 7 to wedge are going really close just now.
  5. Searching for the Holy Grail didn’t take as long as this! Since I got my first handicap (19) in January 2015, I’ve worked towards TODAY'S PAR ROUND OF 69! It’s only taken me around 900 rounds. I feel over the moon, and in the words of Ally Graham “Ah just cannae believe it”. 3 birdies, 3 bogeys and 12 pars - 44 stableford points in windy conditions with 32 putts. Caddy - hand me my beer!
  6. Clyde 4 Forfar 0 Dumbarton 0 Montrose 0 East Fife 1 Falkirk 2 Peterhead 3 Stranraer 0 Raith 1 Airdrie 2
  7. My driver usually ends up 200-220m My 3 wood about 190m off a tee and 180m off the fairway. I have both 3 and 4 hybrids which usually get 180m and 170m. I allow 150m for my 5 iron, and 10m less for each club from there. So I’ve got a decent coverage for any distance, the only thing I miss is something like a 2 iron to help get out from under trees.
  8. Now that the better weather is nearly here and I've started to incorporate the swing changes my coach gave me, I hope I can continue to improve. Now down to 8.7. Pennants games start at the end of January, so I better improve just to keep my place in the team!
  9. Brilliant. Playing a game for the fun of it with fresh air, exercise and coming on in leaps and bounds. Good on you. Don't be afraid to go for some good coaching if you get stuck.
  10. No arguments from me on this. We are largely full-time and we need to make that fitness factor count.
  11. US Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg admitted to hospital https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-50534140 Oh she’s a tease.
  12. Spent 12 years in London then 13 years in Hong Kong and have now live in New Zealand for 7 years. Both London and Hong Kong were all about the money. It seemed like every abusive drunk in London (80's / 90's) was Scottish and I really had a problem with associating as Scottish. Hong Kong was a blast as a single guy. Great work ethics and boy can they party hard. Never had so much fun. Here in New Zealand its all about quality of life. Almost everybody is friendly. Its got nearly the same population as Scotland and does OK for itself on the world stage. I feel at home here so much so I've started to go to the rugby (although I still cant figure the rules).
