  1. Hiya Lichties! Will Arbroath TV be showing the Hamilton game?
  2. Haha yeah the climbing up for a cuddle happens very frequently these days if it fits he sits, last night he was on my chest I dozed off to the sound of his snoring.
  3. I'm continually surprised by the resilience shown by this little guy, he's 16, has kidney issues, arthritis and an over active thyroid but is still trucking along, he sleeps a lot and has days where he won't eat much ( bloody loves boiled chicken though ) but is still pretty active and has a mad turn every couple of days, he's also becoming very chatty in his old age, I know that in the not too distant future it'll all catch up with him but for now I'm spending every waking minute hanging out with him, fell asleep with him on the sofa last night and woke up with a sore neck but it's totally worth it.
  4. It's been bugging me who Brecel reminds of - it's Joe Cole.
  5. The only part that still needs some work is the baggage situation but if it's a stopover i imagine you won't have to deal with that side of it, I've been through Schiphol 3 times in the last few months and my girlfriend travels a lot for work and we've had no issues getting through security, it's still not perfect but it's much better than it was.
  6. I'd choose Leiden over Den Haag, as @welshbairn said Haarlem is also a nice option used to live there and head through whenever I get the chance, if you do go to Haarlem check out Jopen brewery. Also the security situation at Schipol seems to have improved considerably since last year.
  7. I'll admit I feared the worst when I saw the team sheet - I couldn't work out how we were lining up defensively, wasn't sure if it was a back 3 or 4, it totally threw me but what do I know I was happy to eat some humble Killie pie, think there was a bit of lingering fear from me after the first half of the game last week. I thought Chambers and Watson were great and Alan Power was back to his very best ( I've always been a bit of a Power fanboy ) the whole team put in a great shift also thought Vassell led the line really well and hope his injury isn't anything serious. And well done to St Mirren on securing a top 6 finish.
  8. Just seen our starting 11 ooooft. Congrats St Mirren on an easy 3 points. Hope I'm wrong though.
  9. She loves rolling around in mud as well, takes ages to get her clean but she's a sweetheart
  10. First time I heard it I just thought it was some Dutch techno tune, I was waiting for the beat to drop.
  11. They've had something similar here in The Netherlands for years, at midday on the first Monday of the month they test it you get an alert on your phone and the air raid sirens go off, I've lost count of the amount of distressed tourists that have approached me wondering what was going on sometimes I have a laugh at their expense and say it's the apocalypse, I suppose if you live in a Country that is mostly below sea level something like this is quite a sensible idea.
  12. Amsterdam in general is really safe just back from Glasgow and a day in Ayrshire for the Killie game took the Dutch guys I play football with they loved it despite the score. I think there's a metro stop really close by, it's crazy flat as you probably remember so is great for walking about and yeah the prices have gone up considerably. Feel free to fire away at me for more advice if needed
  13. The RAI itself is a conference and events center but on the Scheldestraat there are a few bars and restaurants there's also Knijn bowling alley on the Scheldesplein which I've been to a few times. It's well connected you can be in Centrum with the metro with 15 minutes or so there's also the tram but that takes a bit longer, you're also only a 15 minutes walk from De Pijp which is a rather cool area. If you do head towards De Pijp and like a steak check out Loetje on Ferdinand Bolstraat and next door you have a local brewery called Troost.
  14. Cheers mate I was going to go with the Gel lyte lll OG but they're green/ grey which didn't feel like the right choice for the Killie v Celtic game. No disrespect to Professor concrete but I've seen the video of the Dundee 5s and I'm a far superior player should've taken my boots with me on Sunday.
  15. My first lads trip in nearly 20 years - they're all in their 30s and I'm nearly 50 it was like herding cats trying to organise it all but it all worked out well and they really enjoyed it, my liver didn't enjoy it though back to my dogs tomorrow.
  16. Brought the Dutch guys I play football with over for a few nights in Glasgow and then to the Killie game on Sunday ( thanks Killie for being utter dugmeat ) They're really tall and I'm not.
  17. @Gorgie greatness @54_and_counting Really sorry for your loss - they just don't live long enough My wee mate Mason contemplating life, the universe and everything. Dogs eh
  18. I've got a mate from Texas who's a pilot, he's now retired but when he was still working he'd be over here quite regularly, we'd meet up and go out for a meal. We went out for a curry one night and one of the other pilots joined, the guy was an utter tool, when placing his order he kept insisting that he wanted it as spicy as possible, the waiter kept asking him "are you sure Sir?" The food arrives and his dish was glowing with chillies, he was a mess within seconds but kept eating, tears and snorters covering his face, I nudged my mate and we turned to see the chef and the waiter standing at the kitchen door laughing and pointing at him, one of the most entertaining meals I've ever had.
  19. I've got that poster hanging in my living room, right above the drawer where I keep my stash.
