In the first half Alloa had two efforts that had goal written all over them that somehow stayed out. In the second half Thomson missed a sitter of a header inside the six yard box and then there was a huge scramble at the end where somehow nobody could force the ball over the line. Most of our other efforts were shots from outside the box that forced some decent saves but none that you wouldn't expect a competent keeper to take care of.

I think everyone except Vaughan.

I can see where you are coming from but there is still plenty to play for. Even a draw for us will in all probability be enough for you. If Alloa score first we'll be in big trouble.

On the way home from Arbroath the main topic of conversation was travel plans for the play offs and our certain failure in those play offs. It was done and dusted, we'd blown it. After an initial wave of excitement on Sunday I now mainly feel fear. Before Sunday, we'd accepted the play offs, but now having been handed back the initiative out of nowhere, to blow it now is a terrifying thought. If we lose the league now I can't see how we could come back from that in the play offs.

I'm assuming he means the Tuesday after. Either way, you've got a handy squad with players who will be playing for places in the play offs. This is going to be a tough test for us regardless. That said though, I'm just stunned and delighted that we've somehow ended up in this position.

Thompson has started 5 matches for Livingston, while Hardie has started 12 in the same time frame. The reason for this is that Hardie is more than competent at Championship level while Thompson isn't really up to it.

Sinton quoted in the FFP today regarding the new pitch. We are going for a woven pitch similar to Falkirk's with the contract for installation currently out to tender. The pitch will be 2m longer but there is no need for it to be widened. If we end up in the play offs we may need to move our home league cup group matches elsewhere but it sounds as though it should be ready for the league season.

If I'm being honest, I think a phone call from Barry Smith would be better used as a threat of the consequence of not buying a season ticket rather than as a reward for buying one.

For me it's not the timing of the early bird deal, more the fact it's only on for 2 days, one of which had basically passed before most people even knew this deal would happen. To me that makes it seem as though it's another attempt at a quick cash injection. Perhaps they're ring-fencing some money for Smith's severance once we're out of the play offs...

The last 2 series have just been a complete waste of time. Surely this will be axed at the end of next season.

Possibly but we are so frustrating to watch. Mucking about with the ball in the corner at home to Queen's Park, and other sides, is a total nonsense. Smith basically sucks the enjoyment out of it all with the way he has them playing.

Folk turn up to watch a team play for 90 minutes though. That sort of performance today was one we have seen at least a dozen times this season and it's the reason we're 20 goals worse off than Ayr. The fact we were 2-0 up and had the crowd booing the players says it all.
