  1. Buttler almost goes first ball.
  2. Root passes Alex Stewart to move to 3rd spot on the list of England test run scorers. Pope given out lbw, looked plumb.
  3. Root launches a glorious 6 back over the bowler's head to pass 200.
  4. Root passes 184 to set a new record high score for a player playing in his 100th test match. India have burned all 3 reviews. Root and Pope are their own biggest threat at the moment with a couple of ropey quick singles.
  5. 400 up for England, and Root over 600 for the year so far in only the 3rd test match out of a possible 17 this calendar year.
  6. Stokes goes for 82 from 118 balls, England 387-4. Tried to pull Nadeem over deep square but didn't quite get all of it, Pujara juggled it a bit but managed to hang on.
  7. Root continuing to do his thing, with Stokes on the attack at the other end, not a good combination for India
  8. Delighted to see he followed it up with another 67 tonight. I know Bubba isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I followed him for a few holes at Troon and the amount of movement he can put on the ball both left and right was mind boggling.
  9. I've often been bamboozled by Movistar's dual leader approach which has cost them races imo. Halfway through watching The Least Expected Day: Inside The Movistar Team 2019 on Netflix and I'm still none the wiser as to how it was meant to work.
  10. TMS had the stat earlier that this is only the second time Sibley has lasted more than 100 balls in the first innings. At the risk of jinxing him, he has been solid this morning.
  11. Lawrence at 3 with Pope at 6. Good start by England but there is absolutely nothing in the pitch.
  12. Speith plays with the same levels of consistency most of us can muster.
  13. Decent start by Chelsea, Jorginho putting them ahead from the penalty spot after a very clumsy challenge by Dier on Werner.
  14. Defo, but he certainly won't forget his debut.
  15. No need for a VAR check on that challenge.
  16. Derby's record low points total of 11 looks like it will remain intact for another year. 3 wins in 5 now for Sheffield Utd.
  17. I'm a huge Nicklaus fan, but his recent support of Trump was hard to stomach. He's now announced he is designing a course in Saudi.
  18. Watching yesterday's rerun on Sky, still can't fathom how that putt by Bob on 8 stayed out. It looks just right of centre, then seems to kick right on the edge of the hole and horseshoes out. Bizarre one. Certainly had a stone cold putter yesterday, the 3 putt from 8 feet was inexplicable. No doubt he left 3 or 4 shots out there. Yesterday was his 50th event, making 43 cuts (86%), that's a much higher percentage than players at a similar stage of their career. (E.g. Kitayama at 76% and Perez at 72%). Bob also has 12 top 10 finishes. Keeps giving himself chances, he'll convert more into wins soon enough imo.
