  1. Honestly thought Barney's days of results like that were gone, terrific entertainment. Just goes to show how stats can lie, lower average and doubles percentage, but still won. That half of the draw is wide open now.
  2. Big wicket right at the end. Bairstow missed a stumping chance on De Villiers, England haven't got anyone out by way of a stumping for 3 years.
  3. 3 down now, Elgar out too. Only two possible results now, England win or an unlikely draw. Very strongly favour the former, unless De Villiers and Du Plessis can bat for the rest of today and most of tomorrow.
  4. Moeen out for 16, 275-7 at lunch, lead by 364 which I still think is more than enough. Piedt gets his 5 wickets for the first time in his career, well deserved and has to give Moeen plenty of encouragement.
  5. Edging towards the 350 lead. Imo what England should avoid is getting Broad and Finn in to bat, let them chill in the pavilion until it's time to bowl. Important that England give themselves enough time to get the wickets they need, SA almost pulled off a draw in India in not too dissimilar circumstances.
  6. Only one winner from here imo, England possibly have enough of a lead already. Try and add another 80-90 runs tomorrow to get to 350 and they should still have 5 sessions or so to get SA out.
  7. 2 big let offs for England with Compton and Root both dropped behind the stumps. 58-2 at tea, lead by 147.
  8. Going to be a very hard shift for Morkel and Abbott.
  9. Edinburgh well worth the win, far too many mistakes by Glasgow.
  10. Breakthrough by Broad, 3-14 he has now. Got one to nip away from De Villiers which he edged and was caught behind, Broad has been excellent all day. SA 100-3.
  11. I don't think so, even before they lost the two early wickets. They batted appallingly in India recently, only got over 200 once. Yes a lot was to do with conditions but there was a lot of wickets simply thrown away. They are a team in transition and still trying to fill a lot of holes created by retirements in the last year or so.
  12. Kiss of death from me, Finn went lbw the next over, 303 all out. Decent score considering the start they made yesterday.
  13. England have another 10th wicket stand to thank for getting them over 300, Broad and Finn doing well. Saffers will be under pressure now as they have been very poor with the bat lately.
  14. Jarryd Hayne has been put back on the 49ers active roster, he might actually get to see some snaps in the backfield with almost every other RB injured.
  15. Root goes for 24, 49-3, trapped lbw by the first ball from Piedt which was a cracker. England went for the review but it was hitting the top of middle stump.
  16. Hales out almost immediately after the restart for 10, 16-2 at the time.
  17. Rain stopped play soon after, they are having an early lunch break now.
  18. An Android Tv box which I had picked out myself, and a surprise from the missus that proved she does occasionally listen to my inane ramblings, a voucher for the Glasgow Central Station tour. Usual assortment of smelly stuff, Dvds, books etc.
  19. @bythemingolf with John Huggan and Laurence Donegan and guests, they've had some great shows in the past year.
  20. Anderson confirmed as out of the first test. TMS have tweeted that Woakes was bowling first in the nets before Footitt and Jordan this morning, they think he will get the nod.
  21. Grayson Hart given the start against Edinburgh.
  22. I thought watching it live they were lucky not to be ejected. Norman has been hit with 2 fines for his part, $8681 for a face mask, and $17363 for striking an opponent in the head/neck area. The NFL keep making noises about making the game safer in regards to head injuries, IMO going helmet to helmet in the manner that Beckham did was worthy of ejection from the game on it's own.
  23. OBJ banned for one game. Footage has also appeared of him having to be separated from Panther Marcus Ball before the game after Ball approached him with a baseball bat in his hand. The video is on Nfl.com.
  24. The temporary relaxation of driver's hours has been extended to January 6th, meaning they can still drive up to 11 hours a day instead of 9, and can do 66 hours driving a week. Not much consolation for the drivers I would guess.
  25. Been a whole since they played in Aberdeen is it not? Rugby Park has been used for these sort of games before but the artificial pitch possibly rules it out now.
