Been watching some ofvthe Aussies v Windies the last couple of nights. Sad to see how poor the Windies are at the moment, having grown up watching a succession of genuinely terrifying pace bowlers they are utterly toothless with the ball in hand just now. Australia declared on 583-4 with Voges on 269no and Shaun Marsh scoring 182. They then got ripped into the Windies who were 207-6 at the close. Resumes at 11.30 tonight.

Andy is quite scathing of the LTA in today's Daily Record, says he was at the National Tennis Centre for some training and the place was deserted. Also said they are all talk and very little action.

Andy Murray for me, yes they might win the team prize but he did the bulk of the work, 11 points all told in the Davis Cup and unbeaten all year and had to carry that pressure of having to win his singles every time. Jessica Enniskillen? Max Whitlock would be a deserving winner imo, first British man to win an individual gymnastics gold. Greg Rutherford should also be a strong contender, holding all the major titles at the same time, but he probably won't even get a mention.

Former NZ captain Chris Cairns was found not guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice.

Not so sure, an athletics world championship doesn't draw the same level of interest as an Olympics, especially a home one. Thing that will count against Murray, and probably Hamilton too, is they both won it recently.

Can't see him winning it, it's a public vote and I don't know anyone who likes him! Between Murray and Hamilton imo.

Yep, other guys like Colin Fleming, Johhny Marray and Ross Hutchins also deserve a mention, all played their part over the years as they made their way up the tables.

Heard Leon Smith on 5live's preview show during the week, comes across as a very shrewd man. He's the first to admit that he can't tell the players anything from his own experience as a player as he never played at the level of any of the players on the team. Instead it's all down to preparation and analysis of the opposition and just trying to keep the players focused on their game plan. Surely Murray must be a shoe in for SPOTY? And the team for the team trophy?
