  1. Plunkett and Footitt added to the squad for the next Test.
  2. Anderson will miss the next Test, but he is hopeful of being fit for the last match at the Oval.
  3. Bedene is on in the second match tomorrow against Fognini.
  4. Same for me, just enjoy watching the Tests. Can equally enjoy England or the Aussies getting hammered! As for the next Test, even without Anderson if he doesn't make it England's bowling still looks in decent nick. Broad is in great form, and in Finn they have a bowler with genuine scary pace. Just a pity that thanks to their previous "coaching" of him he is a couple of years behind where he should have been. Would think the Aussies might bring Watson back in, and with Marsh and Voges both failing in this match then they could be under threat. Haddin might also be back but with Nevill batting well today he might do enough to hang on to his place.
  5. ECB have stated that Anderson has a tight side and will be assessed overnight.
  6. Delighted for Finn after all the shit he has gone through, especially being sent home from Australia after being labelled unselectable.
  7. According to reports that's around 6000 miles from the main search area, could it have drifted that far? Or were they hopelessly wrong with their original calculations?
  8. Bad luck for Cook, though I suppose you could say he was lucky early on not to play on. Voges "caught" him, though he knew nothing about it, the ball just seemed to lodge in his jumper. The BBC Sport feed posted this video of Jonathan Trott taking a similar catch in 2009. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/8145070.stm
  9. The article I read last week was more about the fear of further landslides rather than anything to do with the road surface.
  10. Today's final climb, only 3k but has some parts at 15% and has 17 corners.
  11. Worst part of this year's Tour must be those brutally dubbed Alpecin adverts.
  12. Contador the big loser after a crash/mechanical on a descent, rest of the contenders pretty much crossed the line together.
  13. Van Garderen looks done, he's off the back for the second time today. Edit: He's abandoned, clearly sick.
  14. If Movistar want to win this tour, then they will have to tell one of their two GC riders to sacrifice his chances for the other one IMO. Still a chance for them with the climbs in the next 4 days.
  15. Nudged or not, Barguil was going way to fast to ever get around there.
  16. Taylor just hit a career best 291, perfect timing?
  17. Nibali pulls back some time on the others, but the big highlight today was a huge crash for Thomas. Barguil made an arse of a corner on the descent and took Thomas out, who went careering right through the spectators and went flying arse over title into the ditch, narrowly missing a lamppost on the way. He managed to get back up and came in 40 seconds down on the other GC contenders.
  18. Anger is an Energy - John Lydon. His second autobiography released last year, his previous one was out in the early 80s. Decent enough read, though he does ramble a bit at times.
  19. Keystone cops stuff from England now, 5 down with Stokes run out, even though he would have been comfortably in if he had actually bothered to ground his bat.
  20. Personal pride maybe, but this could be finished today.
  21. Worrying scenes as Chris Rogers retired hurt. He had, been struck on the head early on but it was 20 minutes or so later before he sunk to the ground looking groggy. Smith came in and the Aussies are still motoring on at 165-0, lead now around 420.
  22. If they do score quickly enough I think they will declare in time for England to face 4 or 5 overs before lunch.
  23. I can understand him wanting to give his pace bowlers a rest though, they've put in a good shift last night/today and I'll be surprised if the Aussie bat beyond lunch tomorrow. That will leave England 5 sessions to bat through, unlikely I would have thought.
