  1. They are now saying he could bat depending on the match situation. Good luck with that if Mitch is launching them at his toes at 90 mph again!
  2. Lead of 369 runs at the close with 7 wickets in hand.
  3. Cracking ball by Stokes to dismiss Clarke, lead now over 350. Swann also off the field with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
  4. Australia lose their first wicket at 157 as Rogers goes, Warner hits another ton and the lead is now over 300. Only question now is how long Australia want to give themselves to bowl England out. To add to England's woes it's not looking good for Broad who has gone for an X-ray on his injured foot and will take no further part today.
  5. He is brilliant for sticking on one end and keeping the scoring rate down. Economy rate of 2.74 in Test matches, can't be many better than that.
  6. He's batted 4 times and scored 94, 53, 118 and 55, which on their own are great figures. But you have to remember that the 94 in the first test came when they were up against it and the innings this morning also came when they were under pressure.. England's bowling coach David Saker hasn't missed the bowlers after today's performance. "It was a disappointing day for all the bowlers. We pride ourselves at being able to restrict scoring and we weren't able to do that. "We had a chance, but we weren't able to take it. We probably bowled a little bit too short. "It's drilled into this group not to bowl short. We probably got a little bit excited. "We thought we bowled full early doors, but there wasn't a lot of swing, then we pulled it back too far. "But the game is still alive. We will come back tomorrow, fight to get the four wickets and then hopefully bat really well. "We assess selection all the time. We make mistakes, and we might have made a mistake in this game. We picked a side that we thought would get 20 wickets and that still could happen." Left the part about selection highlighted, how much input would the coaches have in reality? Flower always strikes me as being very much the main man, don't know if he would pay that much attention to the others.
  7. Matt Prior said to Smith that "he was one game away from being dropped." Pot, kettle and black springs to mind. Massive chance missed by England, but Haddin once again does it when it matters. That's three 50s and a hundred from 4 innings. Impressive stuff.
  8. Australia's turn to be chipping some cheap wickets away. 153-5.
  9. Can't see the Aussies changing tbh, think they will just use Watson to give the others a rest if they need it.
  10. All 10 English wickets in the second innings were to balls that weren't hitting the stumps. Some very poor shot selections again.
  11. Some light relief for a Saturday night, today's NFL Quarterbacks if they were bald! http://www.mandatory.com/2013/12/05/todays-nfl-quarterbacks-if-they-were-bald/1
  12. Carnage again. Bell the only one to use his head, another totally demoralising day for England. Carberry was decent too, but how long can Prior keep his place? That takes him to 5 ducks in 9 tests
  13. Scrub that, they declared on 570-9 while I was posting that. That leaves around 20 overs for England to face tonight.
  14. Even Nathan Lyon has whacked a six! Aussies to declare when the new ball is due?
  15. Probably have to see out the last hour or so, expect the Aussies to up the pace even more as it gets closer to tea.
  16. Saw it on Twitter last night but didn't want to post until it had been confirmed. He was one of the customers in the pub. There are also a couple of names going around regarding the pilot and one of the police officers, but again I'm not posting them until they are officially confirmed.
  17. Jesus fcuking wept. Has it occurred to you that the press might just have recognised him and pestered him for interviews because he is an MP, rather than some other "unknown" passer by? The shock at what he has witnessed is written all over his face. Condolences to all affected by it. As it turns out the sister of a Petershill player was working behind the bar in the Clutha last night, she is pretty badly injured but she will come through it.
  18. Looks like Crabtree will be back for the 49ers this week, might be too late to have any real impact on this season though. It was also good to see Marcus Lattimore in training as he steps us his recovery from the awful knee injury he suffered just about this time last year.
  19. Root to number 3 was the first thought I had tbh, number 6 is a different matter!
  20. Trott is leaving the tour and heading home, suffering from a "stress related illness."
  21. It's awful at times. Watched Munster beat Glasgow earlier this season and almost all of the last 10 minutes was spent scrummaging. Munster used all their experience to make sure that every scrum took ages.
  22. For England to survive they need Cook to stay there for as long as possible, KP did his level best to get him run out on the first ball he faced. Looked like he decided he was going for a single regardless of where he hit it. Cook made it in by a whisker.
  23. It's free until the end of the year AFAIK.
