  1. Sky are showing the final live, 5.30 pm on SS4.
  2. Must have, or they would surely have called for one then?
  3. Harris hits 3 fours off Broad then has a wild swing at the last ball of the over, lead now 32 and every run vital at this stage.
  4. And now Rogers goes too, still 2 behind and Harris and Siddle at the crease with the new ball due in 3 balls time.
  5. Great start for England getting Haddin out before the new ball, which is due in a couple of overs. Australia 6 behind.
  6. Will listen to it tomorrow. I got the impression that England started off with the mindset that they were quite happy to bat for as long as possible even if they weren't scoring many runs.
  7. Certainly seemed to be a bit of a general malaise about England's batting, the Aussies did bowl well but it took until 15 minutes before lunch for England to hit their first boundary. KP went chasing the first bowl he faced and was lucky it went into open space, Bell then chipped a simple shot to mid off just after lunch. Watson had a terrific spell this morning. Jackson Bird has Scottish ancestry, I'm reliably informed by his second cousin.
  8. Can't help but think that with the Ashes already retained some of the English batsmen weren't really at it today. Aussie bowlers certainly made it hard for them to score but there were some very lazy shots that cost wickets.
  9. The Aussies wasted a lot of reviews earlier in the series, but they've done a great job with them today. I'd have put my house on that ball that dismissed Prior missing the stumps.
  10. And Bell holes out cheaply to mid off just after tea, now 155-5. 3 wickets for Lyon.
  11. England go from 149-2 to 153-4 with KP and Cook out in quick succession. Typical wobble from England tbh.
  12. 57-1 at lunch, pretty dull morning's play.
  13. Root goes for 16, England 34-1. Excellent spell of bowling by Watson, deserved a wicket.
  14. And his explanation does make sense. Why try and cheat hotspot when it can keep you in on an lbw decision like it did for him in the first innings?
  15. It was a tough one to call IMO. With the poor forecast in mind Australia could have declared on Sunday with maybe a 250ish lead on the board. They might then have got a few England wickets down on Sunday, but in truth the weather was so poor on Monday that there wouldn't have been enough time on the field to get all 10 wickets. On the other hand, what if it hadn't rained at all today with England only chasing 250? They would have looked very stupid if England had managed to win.
  16. Here's the scorecard for the last ever one. It had 10 days play spread over 12 days and they had to call a halt to proceedings as the England team would have missed their boat home if they had played on. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/62657.html
  17. Just seen Cook's dismissal. Complete waste of a review. I can only guess he can't tell the difference between hitting his own leg and hitting the ball.
  18. It's all down to having a basic knowledge of all the players, something the MOTD lot have an astounding lack of. Lawrenson was a total embarrassment during the recent Confederations Cup. Can't say I dislike any of Sky's cricket team, they all contribute in different ways. Bob Willis is the world's angriest pundit though!
  19. I wasn't expecting to like him, but Andrew Strauss has been an excellent addition to Sky's team. I've enjoyed the bits he has done in the nets.
  20. Extra 8 overs tagged onto tomorrow, so a possible 98 in total if the weather behaves.
  21. I think where he really ballsed it up was his mistake causing Smith to be run out. Smith looked to be well set and was scoring quickly, if he had stayed in they could have had more runs in hand earlier, leading to an earlier declaration.
  22. I'm factoring in the weather when I say it will almost certainly be a draw. They've got a bit lucky with the rain so far but the forecast for tomorrow is the worst yet. I don't think there will be anywhere near 90 overs played tomorrow. I'll also be surprised if there isn't an overnight declaration, Aussies are in the last chance saloon now and need to take their chances with the lead they have.
  23. The draw looks like a certainty now IMO, unless England have an absolute catastrophic batting collapse tomorrow.
  24. Bollocks, rain is on, Off for an early tea and let's hope it's just a quick shower.
  25. Definitely, that should have been a comfortable two.
