Do we know what seed we’re most likely to be should we get there?

Also does the number eg B1, B2 etc correspond to seeding?

Does that mean if we’re expected to be 3rd seed I should try all 3 groups? Logical or am I talking pish?

B1, B2 etc does not correspond to seeding at all so you can't work anything out from what pot we would be in. The twitter accounts that do projections seem to think we'll be more likely to be pot 1 or 2 last time I checked but there's far too many games across the qualifying groups to go for it to be that accurate.

Would imagine you could sell a ticket if it was a game on the same day as Scotlands and still buy a Scotland ticket. I could be wrong though.

I'm on 10 points, should have really been more, but that's largely my fault, so I'll probs try head to Georgia, but I'll also apply for tickets through the ballot.

The info from UEFA isn't the best and I've read that the resale platform is due to open in spring 2024 which would probably be after the SSC allocation gets sold so I'm not taking any chances of applying for any random group games in the ballot.

I would disagree with one part of that twitter thread though which is not to apply at all if  you have  10 or more points. UEFA seem to suggest people who are unsuccessful in the ballot will get priority for future sales when tickets aren't taken up by those successful in the ballot so I'm thinking it might be worth applying for the opening game or knockout games just to get access to it if borderline points-wise for SSC tickets.  The opening game is the only game that day so if you are successful then you aren't blocking any chance of Scotland tickets and obviously for the knockouts the teams won't be known until the tournament starts so plenty of time to punt on the resale platform beforehand without interfering with getting SSC tickets for the group stages.

  3. The most recent example of a player being in the under 21s squad announcement and then also in the first team squad a few days later was Calvin Ramsay v Turkey.

    u21 announcement on 4th November

    First team announcement 9th November

Hickey was already injured and Clarke already knew Celtic weren't allowing Ralston to be released by the time both squads were announced which probably rules out it being a replacement for someone getting injured in between the 2 announcements. Gemmill then called up Max Johnston as a replacement so it was probably out of the blue for him too.

Appreciate that many will have been in this situation but it’ll be more common now given the fact we now have 38,000 members.

This one particularly stings as it’s a friendly taking place in a large stadium in the same window as a very important and attractive away game. You’d think that would point towards it dropping down the points. The short notice was a further kick in the balls.

Its easy to say it’s not massively difficult but the situation now is that unless you have the finances, flexibility with your employer and family life to book up 3+ trips per year, including some on the eastern edge of Europe then you’re not going to get very far.

It dropped to 11 in the end so it would appear people could get a ticket for Cyprus, Spain and France without attending a single away game. Looks like you really don't need to book anywhere near 3+ trips a year to get to any Scotland away game apart from 1 COVID impacted allocation of 300 in Moldova.

Easy to say in hindsight that it drops to however many points but the reality is that you’re booking things months in advance and tickets go on sale weeks in advance. I don’t think many are in a position to be booking trips to near enough Asia and gambling whether they will be able to get one of 900 tickets.

Personally speaking, I didn’t go to Cyprus the first time as I’d been to Russia the month before points just dropped off). Didn’t go to Armenia as I’d been in Dublin days before (which unfortunately sold out on 12 points which I was on). Didn’t go to Cyprus the second time as I chose to go to Lille instead, thinking a friendly would be easier to get points for, as well as being a hell of a lot cheaper.

I can’t have too many complaints as those who have got into these games go more often or at least have had more luck with where they’ve chosen to go to than me. It’s frustrating as hell though, going to every single home game plus taking a chance on 1/2 aways a year and getting nowhere, particularly with next summer on the horizon.

Everyone was in the same boat when they climbed the ladder taking the chance on booking without the guarantee of a ticket so it's nothing new. I missed Hungary because it went to 6 on the old system, our group were short for Lithuania because it went to 4 and plenty missed France in Metz the last time round too not to mention Moldova and the Faroes and the COVID allocations. Now the complaints are people who haven't been to a single away game or 1 max out the last 10 seem annoyed that they can't get sorted for either big games or tight allocations when we're getting some of our best results in years.  When pointing out it's not massively difficult to get enough points it's always this friendly was too short notice or that qualifier was too far away yet the people at the top are going to these games and for all the harvester claims by the time France comes around that'll be 3 of the last 6 that have been 100% pickup and the numbers who are on 20+ aren't falling.

The top pointers will tell you that you should choose to go to away friendlies to get up the ladder 😅

Or Cyprus (twice) or Armenia or Ireland. It's not that difficult. Even France we're talking 13 points and it's still showing as available and we'll get the same shouts of how it's a closed shop.

I think this was answered previously but no points are awarded for actual games finals tournaments themselves, is this correct?

    Yes you're right.

  8. Nations League draw confirmed as 8th February showing my guesswork of it being after the March games to be completely wrong.

The UEFA Executive Committee decided to relocate the 2024 UEFA Congress from Madrid to Paris on 8 February 2024. The 2024/25 UEFA Nations League group stage draw will also be moved to the French capital city on the same day.

  9. If his interview with James Cairney didn't show you he's thick as f**k then his job being to represent Scottish football jobbers and burning his bridges with one of about 10-15 potential employers for said jobbers if they want to play full time football should.

and unless Milne has changed agent he just negotiated an extension for Milne with the people he doesn't want to ever work with again within the last 2 months. An extension that even most Thistle fans were baffled by as he should be off to the Premiership next summer.

I currently have 11 loyalty points, missed out on Spain but planning on going to France which should take me to 13 points.

I know someone did a table somewhere, do we think 13 points would be enough for Euros tickets if/when we qualify?

I'm absolutely kicking myself for missing the friendly vs Poland in March 2022 which I don't think drops off before tickets would be released I assume?

Georgia is an option but having looked at the travel and bank account, it would be a squeeze

    Any advice appreciated

Norway at home knocks Denmark off so Poland would still be there by the time tickets are released unless we collapse into the playoffs.

Here's 16% of the capacity each of the stadia

    Berlin - 11,913
    Munich - 11,212
    Dortmund - 10,535
    Stuttgart - 8784
    Gelsenkirchen - 8758
    Frankfurt - 8751
    Hamburg - 8359
    Dusseldorf - 8164
    Cologne - 7972
    Leipzig - 6873

You're on 11 points with 4518 others, 7132 are on 12+ so even assuming every single member above you in points takes their ticket for the euros you'd still be in with a shout of a ticket for 9 of the 10 stadia if you don't increase your points . 13 points will almost certainly guarantee it for you if you manage to get to France or Georgia.

I can't see a huge amount of people on 11 or below getting above you by the time tickets go on sale for the Euros as the allocations for France and Georgia will probably be in the 2-3k range each and a fair chunk of those will be taken by people already above you anyway.

Haha yeah it is - my main issue being that three point swing is probably the difference in being guaranteed a Euros ticket too.

Frustratingly, before Cyprus it would have been far more likely to drop down to eleven. Typically, choose the Spain away game over Cyprus to go to as the stadium size made me think we would get a better allocation and more chance of a ticket for this one.

It would be nice if they gave us a few extra if they don’t get close to selling out, but I can’t quite see it.

SSC now saying Spain have given us an extra 200 tickets to increase the allocation to 4k.

Tartan Army Message Board ( probably not acceptable here )

    post June 19th

Several water bottles thrown at the stewards giving them out.

Fans down the front apologised.to the stewards

( also mention of fans misbehaving in Armenia )

    Not good enough !

I think you've clearly misunderstood someone who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'literally.' The entire thread is about bottles on the pitch, not being thrown at stewards.
