  1. I don't think anyone is blaming Sibbald, but if his contract ended this season and he left for hee haw then there would be plenty blaming the board. We owe Sibbald nothing and the club don't owe him anything. I hope he does sign on again but it's all become a charade on both parts
  2. He surprised me once with his performances in the SPL with us, he may surprise me again, but has had an up and down career since leaving us and most Falkirk fans will tell you that pace was his game and Latapy feeding balls through to him.
  3. I'm not overly convinced fan ownership is ideal and to me is just multiplying the dicks, diluting the ownership. Fan ownership in general is what it is on the tin but is there any evidence of yet that it's any different, I'd expect most majority shareholders are fans in any case, especially in Scotland. Asking for serious investment in Scottish Football tho is like inventing a chocolate teapot
  4. I'll be surprised if this works out, His game relied on his pace and at 33 and out of competitive football for 2 seasons, surely can't be firing all cylinders
  5. Delayed effort this season, the wheels came off the bus after our first league cup game last season, steadily improving
  6. Jack signing his old Falkirk team mate..... #jobsforpals
  7. Mark Stewart with pace to score his first goal, safe bet for Saturday Sorry but he has had at worst a top four budget each season, this season be 2nd or 3rd biggest budget in the league and we are all over the place. States he had Livvy watched, 3-5-2 they play, we combat that by playing 4-5-1. Sorry, the way unlock a 3-5-2 is width and bodies in the box and not Hoof ball to Austin or Hippo beat 4 men. We are a shambles at the back as we were last season but we have actually got worse, Thomson actually looks nervous and who can blame him with what's in front, still made a few decent saves whereas Alexander had feck all to do. Now we wonder what debacle of team selection and formation we will have v Dumbarton.... 4-6-0 anyone ?
  8. The buck falls with the manager regarding the last two performances. Two seasons ago, we lost three league games, the bar obviously is high to match that but whilst the same manager is in charge and the opposition has weakened, he will be judged against that. Every club bar Livvy and Brechin in this league has released more than they have signed, only leaving out the above two due to an educated guess. The buck falls on Houstie now, it for sure now is his team as Grant, Loy and I should say Shepherd remain from him taking over, it seems as it stands, last season was a warning as the inheritance players left as his signings failed to replace once more. Craigen, Austin, Luca, Rankin, Kidd. Thomson, Aird Sorry given the choice now, I'd sign two of the above, at a push three without going into a huge list of failures before. The board albeit not ideal have given easily a top 4 budget as it stands, he has wasted. The biggest failing was our defence last season, we have same defence and a rookie at left back, whose value counter is going down per game. The development squad is wasted on him, Shepherd wasn't good enough when you came in Mr Houston and won't be when you are gone. We play a lumbering centre half before you play our 19yr Scotland youth cap right back, OHara obviously has Shat in your teapot. I'm fed up seeing two centre halves, three strikers(sorry including Shepherd) two full backs, Maybury etc on our bench in the past, the development squad is there to fill the bench and give them experience to stake claims later. We have went from a progressive club who gives youth a chance, to selling it before it's had a dip in the first team, development squad wasted on Mr Houston. His interview said on Saturday that he'd had Livvy scouted, tonite suggested otherwise with team selection. Sorry Houstie, the buck falls with you
  9. Sorry but Sibbald didn't sign the contract offered around the turn of the year, the grass was greener(nowt to do with Hibs) the grass isn't greener and now you suggest the contract offer isn't worth anything. I'm sorry but the choice he made has left him with signing as an amateur for a year or Falkirk for at least what he was on previously. He has failed to earn more elsewhere as it stands. Sibbs owes us nothing likewise the club with him, its football What exactly is so bad about the contract offered ?
  10. Works both ways, the players tend to have it all in their favour, this is just one loophole post Bosman where the club has the upper hand
  11. If out of contract yes, discussion above and rumour is that we have offered him a 2yr contract Do keep up
  12. Anyone know owt about Loys injury ? I've also been thinking about the Sibbald situation, it wouldn't surprise me if he did re-sign, it won't be till Aug 31st. I'd guess our contract offer made to Sibbs previously was a 2yr improved terms one, surely now we can offer him the same terms he was on previously to qualify for compo. If this is the case, Sibbs agent will surely be telling him to hold on, deadline day does throw up a few surprises. It doesn't make sense for the club and player not to be re-signed pre Saturday to wipe out a suspension and obviously for Sibbs to getting a wage packet again. Cue Sibbs signing on the park tonite !!
  13. I never said quality, I hoped it was a blip in his career with us, never once said more than a blip or actually was a blip. I don't think anyone is wetting their knickers yet 're Gallacher but it's clear to see he struggled on Saturday. He is a footballer and he will need to come to terms with criticism if he is gonna better himself. I was there the day Sibbs was blamed on his debut v Raith, he got plenty of criticism that day, it never harmed him, if anything, you should be learning from it. Only one person jumping the gun by failing to read what was posted by me, I surely don't need to tell you who. if I do write Gallacher off, I'll PM you first and you can cut, paste and add to your previous posts. It's funny that I suggested he strolled 10 out of his 12 starts and you failed to pick up on that..
  14. Nope, I'm not tying myself up and adding stuff that's not been said, knock yourself out, unless you already are
  15. So you disagree he didn't struggle on Saturday and against Morton.
  16. I can't see anyone disagreeing that both the Morton game and Saturdays that Gallacher struggled, but knock yourself out. A few of his other games he probably won Mom and the others he didn't look out of place, not that hard to grasp
  17. I said it's a concern and hope it's a blip, the facts stand he's strolled games when no one has seriously been a threat and when there is, he's struggled in the 12 starts he has had.
  18. It has to be a concern 're Gallacher. He has had MOM performances but the two poor games he has had, has been when he has had someone directly running at him like the Morton away game with Nesbit. It's all very well having a great touch, composure and a decent attack mind with end result, if you can't defend when put under pressure then being a defender isn't ideal. We can hope it's a blip for the young man and he should be getting decent advice from Maybury.
  19. Loan player v signed player perhaps His most productive season was under Fowler
  20. Kingsley was drafted in as a 16yr old, he was like most youngsters up and down tho, on the other hand and side Duffie started on fire as a 17yr old and a league above, he had a dips later on. Horses for courses, sure St Mirren had some of their youngsters they rode the waves with last season tho not as young in defence where it can hurt you more
  21. Let them cream over Clark, a guy who scores nearly most his goals against part timers and relegated teams whereas Reilly has proven himself at this level If he is any good, hopefully gone in January. Gallacher just didn't get close to him and gave him too much time on the ball to just simply hit it on and chase, in reverse St Mirren gave Gallacher no time on the ball and hurried him into making choices. Perhaps the games Gallacher has played in and excelled hasn't included someone hounded him down his side, the other poor game of Gallachers Morton hounded him too. Time will tell re Gallacher but if this becomes a weakness for us, we will see teams hit this, resulting in us maybe promoting another youngster who is a makeshift left back but not the same talent on the ball but better defensively
  22. That was probably the last cynical foul I have seen for us.....
  23. Stewards wisdom can change by the minute. I recall an easter road visit where they sectioned off part of the lower tier, one steward says sit in your allocated seat another says sit anywhere then eventually they guide us to a top tier section, where taking tape of would've been the best idea. Similar at Killie but they opened a lower section. It sounds anal but perhaps the ticketed seat should be sat in, then move after 20 mins or so to a seat not taken, a complete sell out rarely happens
