  1. I’d like to see a back line of McGill Murray Watson Dick Brown moved forward with Matthews, Turner and Stanton. I’d also switch Connolly and Mullin. Connollys lack of a right foot is so predictable for the LB he’s up against and doesn’t have the overlap of Millen to help him out. We need to sort that back line out for next season. We cannot have a third year in a row of this…it’s a bit embarrassing that we’ve played a midfielder in there all year. Showed Airdrie far too much respect in the first half and we should’ve got at them. Zero press and they walked into our half with no pressure. Trying to win the league and we try play some counter attacking nonsense at home…where were those tactics away at DU? Better second half but the damage was done.
  2. Deplorable first half - sh1tebag performance and setup. Now that it’s playoffs can we please play midfielder Scott Brown in….midfield. Turner looked good in the second half and how things might have been different if Connollys shot was 1 cm to the left.
  3. Feels like we’re playing against 13 men. Shambles of a performance. How Airdrie are allowed to walk into our half and we cannot get out of ours is a disgrace.
  4. Unchanged 11 from Saturday. Im happy with that, Vaughan won’t be though. Thought he might pair Murray and Watson together and drop Byrne for Brown. All good though.
  5. Even if we finish 2nd and fall flat in the playoffs I want him here next season. He’s more than delivered upon expectations. Next season it could be even more mental with minimal points separating top and bottom as I don’t think there would be a standout team nor anyone as poor as Arbroath.
  6. If saying IM hasn’t came out on top in this fixture in 10 goes is stranger than inferring that there’s some therapy going on then..well that’s just a bit weird. What is clear, in his tenure as Raith manager we’ve been the clear second best in this fixture and scored 1 goal in 360 minutes of football. I’m hoping that changes tonight.
  7. Possibly but subconsciously he’ll know that he’s not had success from this fixture for either club. What I hope that doesn’t do is make him try some weird and wonderful formation. Unless it gets similar result to Pars away in the Scottish with Connolly at right back
  8. lol so it’s even worse No axe to grind against Airdrie and what they’ve done over the last 12 months playing nice football is fantastic for them and their support. That said…it’s fookin Airdrie, not Hearts. They’ve pretty much the same squad that finished in the playoffs in league 1 with the addition of Todorov and the talented LB loan from Hibs. They've lost or drawn 18 of their 31 games played. With our big squad, we really should be able to win this type of game.
  9. Not sure if the person posts here but read a stat as follows - Murray has managed 10 Raith V Airdrie games. 6 for Airdrie and 4 for Raith. 0 wins 2 draws 8 defeats all by 0-1 Hopefully like ICT that’s a mini curse which can be banished tomorrow. I’m very positive about this season and how it’s went but for one thing…I can’t remember the last time I’ve walked out either Starks or an away ground and thought, wow we were fantastic today. Plenty times I’ve been impressed with the dig or individual players but not the overall performance bar spells in a game. Would be ideal timing to see our levels rise for the remaining fixtures.
  10. Any starting 11 that doesn’t include Stanton, I don’t wanna hear or see it! We’ve lost the midfield battle every game vs Airdrie, that’s what Murray has to get right tomorrow to ensure we get the win. That and stopping Todorov having unmarked opportunities in the box.
  11. Whatever happens this season, it’s been an enjoyable campaign following home and away. In terms of the title I just feel we'll fall short. Not negative and it’s still possible but for the following reasons- 2 x Abroath results, lack that bit of power and height (DU last game as an example). Unfortunate lack of cohesion across the back 4. Think Murray + Watson have played twice together and Scott Brown playing almost the entire season at CB. DU opened the door for us but our run of results Dec-Jan stopped us having the 5-7 point cushion at the top we’d probably need. Just wish we played that starting 11 last week and tried to shitfest a nil nil. We need to find a way of getting 3 points against Airdrie. I hope someone is tasked with being touch tight to Todorov but not exposing the middle of the park like last couple of games against them will help. Something that’s maybe not been thought about is the last game of the season. If we were to be only a point behind and Partick have consolidated 3rd, what incentive do they have to go for it opposed to resting players for a gruelling play-off? Anyway, can’t worry about anything other that ourselves. Hopefully this talented and hardworking team can keep the dream alive.
  12. Imrie’s prematch interview came up as a suggested video on YouTube this morning. He came across as an absolute weapon. Talking about how Airdrie have been long ball merchants when he’s watched them and like it’s a myth the play tidy stuff. The dictionary definition of wee man syndrome and just a thoroughly unlikeable guy. Watch that 9th spot now Morton…
  13. Surprised to hear Chalmers has doubters within the Ayr support. Looked a talented lad every time I’ve see him which has been numerous. Holding midfielders and Stanton further forward = more of the Mr Murray please.
  14. Nail. Head. I really like this lineup and it’s what you’d have expected last week away to DU
  15. Best team won. Horrendous team selection which I called before a ball was kicked. Should’ve been Matthews for Turner and Hamilton for Rudden as a minimum. Zero football played by us so absolutely zero issue with the result, just hacked off with Murray’s unnecessary tinkering. Im away out for beers.
  16. My first ever strip as a lad That will be bought if available
  17. FFS you guys really are down in the dumps with your club eh !
  18. I somewhat agree and I also don’t know much about other teams season ticket info as it’s of no interest to me. I stumble across the odd thing on Twitter as we all do and I recall seeing East Fifes which was ultra expensive for league 2. I think what the other poster is trying to say is it’s a missed opportunity on a marketing front. Say you beat us Saturday..go 4 points clear, then release your freezing the season ticket prices then comes across as your board are the ‘guid guys’. That’s all.
  19. I think the bookies odd on us for this game is a true reflection of our chances here. We’ll need to play very well and have things go for us to get something from the game. Murray has been known to do some weird and wonderful things to his starting 11 and team selection this season and I just hope he gets it right.
  20. Teams like Ayr and Morton in terms of support have another gear or two they could go. We’ve doubled our support this season and now are getting just under 4k for run of the mill home fixtures. Hamilton by way of support and infrastructure always looked to me that they were baws oot when in the top league, albeit they did well for a couple of seasons. Livi is another even more extreme example. I think many expect them to fully implode once relegated and they can’t bank 4 sold out Sevco visits plus anywhere near the revenue Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen would bring. Every dog gets their day or moment in the sun as they say.
  21. The fortunes of certain clubs last 5 - 10 years is startling. Wasn’t long ago that Brechin reached the Championship and now look. The Championship next season will look a lot like ‘natural order’ has been restored with Falkirk coming up. All league 1 teams will be smaller by comparison than the championship clubs. No diddies like Cove.
  22. The fact that Watt is on an alleged £7k per week blows my mind. A few others rumoured to be on hefty salaries too. I looked at their squad at the season start and thought that looks like a mid table SPL side. Certainly better in my mind than Livi, County and St Johnstone. Either I’m completely wrong or they’re making a complete James Hunt of this division.
  23. Hamilton > Rudden please. Sir Stanton has to and will play. He’ll go with Vaughan and Easton imo. Be great to get the first goal as United have struggled when they go 1 down plus the added benefit that the crowd would go toxic. Fully expecting Murray to keep it tight in a low block for the majority of the game and try hit on the counter. That’s why playing Hamilton opposed to Rudden is so important for me as the former wins everything in the air and can hold the ball up far better than Zak.
