I question how, with 8 games still to play that Gow can be considered favourites over Finnart, who only have 3 more games.
I get that The Gow are in form but, the task facing them is far greater than that facing Finnart.
Seen Finnart 3 times now and have now idea how they are where they are in the league. They were poor today, scoring a consolation with 6 minutes to go.
Bellshill had the ball over the line twice early on which the ref didn't see and they missed a couple of sitters so could have been much worse.
Heard season may be extended by a week?
I've always thought Threave have been in with a shout and you can never write a team off with points on the board. The Gow's recent good form put them in the picture but is a harder ask than , say, what Finnart require.
Time will tell.
We've won 3 of our 4 away games on plastic this season, losing only to Threave. We may end up playing Dairy on plastic if they fall too far behind with postponments.
I thought Kilsyth were. nice footballing team on their own ground, just lacking an end product.
IF, and I do stress IF, we beat Ardeer, Dalry and West Park, all away in the next three games I think we would be mathematically promoted, given that some of the other promotion contenders have to play each other before the month end.
Lanark 2 Kello 0
Played in farcical conditions with a cross field howling gale. Pitch was in remarkably good nick.
Sorry not to see the big Kello keeper in action today.
43 points from a possible 51 since new management team arrived.
Pleasantly surprised to note that we have the best defensive record in the division, having conceded 12 goals in our first 5 games, then 18 in our next 17 games.
A record to be protecting as we reach the business end of the season.
Did you have one of their pies or sausage rolls? Both excellent. Great set up, as you say.
Threave are the team who impressed me most this season. Only got one game to go on. Well set up and like to try and play football.
Lanark 2 Glasgow Utd 0
Straightforward win for Lanark. Scrappy first half but went in 1 up , scoring on 43 mins.
Nice turn and shot from outside the box by Gracie sealed the points.
Visitors have deteriorated considerably since they turned us over at their place last August. Only 2 players, plus one who was injured today, remain from our team that evening.
Results today takes us to the top of the league for the first time in a few seasons
Great result for The Gow away at Glw Utd. They are definitely right back in the promotion hunt now with games in hand.
Threave have made life much harder for themselves losing at home to Pt Glasgow.
Always prefer points on the board than games in hand at this stage of the season but I am sure The Gow will fancy themselves to overhaul the teams that have played 4 and 5 games more than them, at least.
