  1. These teams are all too good/big to go down. Season to be curtailed and a vote in favour of reconstruction, I reckon. For the good of Scottish football.
  2. One thing's for sure: I don't think there's going to be a basket case at the bottom - Hearts, Dundee - to bail out the mediocre this season. I think 12th is finishing on at least 33 points.
  3. @RandomGuy. is coming on in a second to accuse you of finding the decision disgraceful.
  4. Ah, fair enough. I think I've got there. I'll not say just in case. Yeah, I'd agree with that. I think he definitely deals with the ball in tight spaces as well as anyone we've got, apart from maybe Flynn. I think he's got a bit of strengthening up to do still, too, but that will come. I'd love to see him playing with some really good movement in front of/around him. It's a shame the Diamond is a bit of a duff system as in some ways that would be ideal.
  5. Good point. I always forget about the issue with their seasons. What do you make of McGrath now? I can't help but feel wide left isn't his best position, but if we're going to up top then obviously something has to give. Also, general prediction: Morias will start next week, too, but out wide in a 4-5-1/4-2-3-1. Dennis will remain on the bench and McGrath will play behind Obika, and Saints social media will explode at 2pm on Saturday.
  6. Formerly or currently? Because I'm steering clear of Twitter for a while if we're signing another Dundalk player
  7. I'd forgotten about that. Staggering that was a thing. Still: at least the precedent's been set. I have to say, these debates are nowhere near as fun without Derek Adams losing his shit at Goodwin. Edit: got to love a non-posting red dotter. Those fuckers need their hard drives checking.
  8. Mate, I'm still waiting on the proof that I said the stuff you said I did. Either that or a backtrack will be fine.
  9. Show me one place where I've said I disagreed with the decision, let alone called it disgraceful. I'll wait. (The post you've quoted even helpfully started by explaining what my point was. If you're struggling, it starts with the words "The point...". Now, off you f**k.)
  10. The point here is that there was such a challenge on one of our players yesterday and we didn't react in the same way. However, no we've seen what happens when you surround the ref and start shoving the opposition around, maybe we'll start. We'll try it next weekend. Should be fun.
  11. Flynn will help with the bit in bold; obviously he's still a wee way off. McGrath is ok at it sometimes, but he wasn't as effective yesterday. I also get the impression that's not really Dennis's game either. I think we're going to set up as a counter-attacking team, especially if we're playing 4-4-2. Hence the need for a bit more pace.
  12. While I agree with not rushing, there's also an argument to be made for getting the squad as strong as possible while other teams are waiting around. On current form - and I understand that's partly crazy after four games - we could be in a better position by the end of October than we've ever been at that stage in my living memory. Given we only have the wage for one more player - if that - then we might as well move if the right guy comes in. Ignoring the hubristic top six bantz, we're still basically aiming to stay up. With no Hearts or Dundee, we might not be able to rely on an absolute basket case team this year. These early points could be critical especially as we're usually absolute gash before Christmas.
  13. All true. And all applies to Vigurs' challenge on McCarthy, too. Sorry for the whataboutery, but we need consistency.
  14. You'd like to think any player would be disappointed to be on the bench. I didn't think Sheron had a bad game at all, and was unlucky for the OG. I could understand why he was in the team: he did a lot of dirty work today. That said, Cammy did play well when he came on too, albeit in difficult circumstances. They'll be playing alongside each other next weekend, too.
  15. He took the goal brilliantly. Nudged the defender aside with his backside to buy some space, and picked his spot. Very calm head.
  16. I'm not especially raging re the red card, though I do feel it was harsh. Prior to that we were marginally the better side, but the game was always on a knife edge. Kristian Dennis is bigger than I was expecting. Will be interesting to see him and Obika up front together. We certainly missed Durmus today (though he's been a bit off the boil so far this season). Gardyne probably MoM; if he played like he complains you'd have a world-class talent on your hands. Edit: Watson was very good for you guys when he came on, albeit really came onto a game when we went down to 10. Would love to know why Donaldson gets a start ahead of him.
  17. 100%. I feel so bad for Morias, and not just cos I'm waiting on him to score for my bet. If he could finish he'd be beyond lethal at this level.
  18. I think Sheron's on there for a reason. He's a pure spoiler.
  19. After a sluggish first 10 minutes, we've settled in and have been pretty good. We're really snapping into challenges and putting on a lot of pressure. If Morias buries that chance, we're out of sight - but County could easily have been level from their best chance. County have looked alright, and I was wrong to think they'd struggle this season. Gardyne and Vigurs, IMO, have a bit of quality about them. Shame we haven't got Durmus on the bench as a bit more true width down the left would be useful. I think Morias has got 15 minutes to score or Dennis is coming on.
  20. Yessss. Great run from McAllister, but honking defending from County.
