  1. Been instructed to decorate this afternoon so sticking to the sportsound coverage. Pleased to see a 4-4-2, assuming it actually is one. I have a hunch Morias might be wide in a three with Kyle and McGrath. Huge if we can win this, but I'm going 2-1 Accies.
  2. Honestly, we will be. Main concern at the minute is the prospect of a season of utter shitfestery. We have a solid defence, which should be trusted enough that we can allow the forward players to be a bit more ambitious.
  3. Under-21s are exempt from the total, aren't they? And the clubs have got a little while to bring their affairs in order. It will be insane, though. I live less than a mile from the Sunderland training ground so take a vague interest in what's going on there... they're going to be utterly fucked. Will they use this as the platform to get their financial affairs in order? Almost certainly not.
  4. I never thought of that, but it's basically outstanding news. There is a grace period for existing contracts, so it'll be a few seasons before we really see the benefit. Here's hoping the cap stays in place.
  5. I've not been this excited about an arrival at St Mirren Park since Guti became our manager.
  6. Yeah, this has goalless draw written all over it. I'm glad we're going into it off the back of one absolute pumping, as opposed to two. The nature of our two performances so far, despite one being a win, has left me on a bit of a downer. Our game is stifling and un-expansive. We have the personnel to play with more width and to get players in and around Obika/the box, but we don't seem to do it. Perhaps a switch to 4-4-2 is needed, but I think we'd get roasted through the middle in the majority of games if we did that, and it would see one of our better performers so far, Jamie McGrath, miss out/get played out of position. I may yet do PPV for this.
  7. Yeah, as discussed further up the thread, this batshit mental stuff is always brilliant. I'm also 99% sure it's not going to happen
  8. Yeah, the £10 stung a little. I'll probably just pay for/stream the home games from now on.
  9. We've obeyed the rules. (But no, I agree with you, they can't go forcing teams to forfeit games after the fact: they needed to establish that as the boundary in advance. Even then, it'd likely lead to teams attempting to cover up cases and incidences of players breaking the rules, which isn't conducive to controlling/tracing the spread.)
  10. +1 for the Rangers TV actually being ok. I must admit I didn't watch the build up, but the in-game stuff was thoroughly decent. I had my phone on WiFi, 30mbps connection, and then cast it to my TV. Decent picture the whole time.
  11. Completely agree. I wasn't looking forward to it at all. Four full days to prep for Accies now; a far more important game for us in the scheme of things.
  12. At least the SPFL used lockdown to add wording to its rules to address the issue of games cancelled because of Covid protocol transgressions. And the whole 'minimum number of games for a completed season' threshold thing. Eh? Oh.
  13. They should have set the precedent with Aberdeen forfeiting the points
  14. McCarthy actually thrust his right leg back to make the contact, but it was inside the box. I'd have been gutted to see that given against us. But if some Rangers player launching himself forward to land in the box 18 months ago was a penalty, then this fucking was as well.
  15. Lee Hodson signed for Accies. Decent business; would have taken him.
  16. The word 'should' doing a lot of heavy lifting there. You're correct, but we've been fucking horrible in this competition recently. However, I do take your and @virginton's points about the match sharpness and yes, that's definitely shite and unfair.
  17. Us, you, QotS, Queen's Park and Partick in League Cup Group G. Decent draw all round, I reckon.
  18. Some excellent fixtures there, especially Morton and League One's Partick Thistle.
  19. My fear is that that's going to be our approach across the season. It was basically the same against Livingston, it's just that we got a decent early goal and then defended stoutly. Plus Rangers are, IMO, looking like a genuinely good side now. Won't lie: I'm worried about Wednesday.
