Some excellent fixtures there, especially Morton and League One's Partick Thistle.

My fear is that that's going to be our approach across the season. It was basically the same against Livingston, it's just that we got a decent early goal and then defended stoutly. Plus Rangers are, IMO, looking like a genuinely good side now. Won't lie: I'm worried about Wednesday.

Good shout - when you think we conceded a lot of possession to LIvingston, too, the omens were always grim for yesterday/Wednesday. I was thinking that - we can tell players in certain positions to absolutely run themselves into the ground for 60 minutes, whilst knowing we're still covered for injuries, etc, if something doesn't go to plan. Less need to pace themselves. Really missing having a fit Ryan Flynn for these types of games.

We were feeble yesterday. On the whole, pretty embarrassing stuff. Showed a bit more intent in the second half, but tough to award pass marks to anyone except the keeper and, possibly, the defence (though it's tough to know who to blame when the ball keeps getting lumped clear, straight back to the blue shirts: those doing the lumping, or those ahead not giving them options.) As I said ont he match thread, McGrath looked tidy in possession at times and will hopefully be more influential against weaker sides. That said, the real fear is a backlash from Celtic dropping points at the weekend, so I can't see Jim taking his eyes off the GD column for this one. Bringing the wall down was just a conspiracy to stop 11 in a row.

Looking at the Hamilton game, I want to see McGrath much, much closer to Obika, and Durmus and whoever's on the right pushing on much more. With that defence, and with McPherson and Foley behind, there's no reason we can't play with more attacking intent.

Erra-hon. 3-0 feels about right here, though it's been a doing and could easily have been more. Arguable penalty shout that would have been given at the other end, but can't see that made any difference to the result. I love Goodwin but he will never send us out to win these games. I just hope we're more positive across the piece in other fixtures this season, or I fear that's what's going to undermine his time with us.

I'm generally a positive chap, though, so I will say this: I think McGrath is going to come onto a game this season. Tough to judge him on this today, but I think he's showing a few neat touches in tight spaces and a willingness/ability to beat a man. Could be important for us against the other nine sides.

We'll need to put some serious thought into whether we begin considering that.

Their entire case was laughable, and they clearly didn't have a leg to stand on. However, I'd defend their right to stand up for their interests, in the courts if required, and if they're happy to run the risk of being stuck paying costs. I really don't think any further punishment would be appropriate*. * Though it would be hilarious. Inappropriate, but hilarious.
