  1. In addition, if this was a club that didn't have any other creepy associations, then that might help. But it all helps add to the lodge vibe, and I suspect they know this. It's not for me.
  2. Well pleased for the lad. He deserves a top-end-Championship gig, at least. I reckon you'll like him. Very good at - ahem - winning free kicks; definitely got a stunning goal or two in his armoury. Not sure what formation you play, but he's better facing the goal than with his back to it. Does a lot of harrying/busy work, so great foil for a poacher.
  3. Looks like he's really filled out, too. Gone from beanpole to athlete. Shame to think you might get bent over for him, but either way, the 25k-ish you paid us has been a proper bargain. Shame Alan Stubbs can't spot talent like you guys managed.
  4. There are corners of our support who are basically moon-howling loons who will argue with anyone and everything. Irrational hatred of something, doesn't matter what, is a way of life for them. It's a bizarre state of affairs and is why BAWA is unreadable these days.
  5. At least - I hope - Covid has put a stop to those fruity fuckers drinking from the furry cup or whatever that noncey shite is called.
  6. I think we'll see a couple of changes. Thor in for McAllister, just for physical presence, and possibly Sheron in for McGrath to activate Ultimate Shitfest mode in the middle of the park. That would properly be a 'hoping for a 0-0' formation but I'd bite yer hand off for that score, and despite Jim's big talk about being more positive, I think he was probably referring to games against the other nine sides.
  7. You're posting in the dying embers of a 900 page thread about reconstruction. With the greatest of respect, if you want to read people's ideas, and responses to those ideas, f**k off back to page one and find them for yourself. Coming on here and failing to add to 14 correctly doesn't earn you the right to start demanding responses.
  8. Obika was going to score hat-tricks in each of the final eight games, so it'd be unfair not to give him the golden boot.
  9. I feel bad for the folk who would have carried on legal action: imagine being that conditioned to humiliating defeat on a public stage that you'll go to any lengths to make it continue.
  10. I'm sad he's going and I absolutely hope we replace him: recruitment strategy has taken a marked upturn since he arrived and I'd be surprised if we didn't replace him.
  11. Fucking Luddites. I got in at 2.35. Signed up, logged in, paid, and watched. It was very simple. Pic quality wasn't great, but I switched to a wired connection in the second half and that helped a bit. Obviously flaws look much worse on a big screen. Might watch future games on my laptop.
  12. I thought he looked decent when he was on loan, the tail end of the Oran Kearney season. Showed up well in a couple of games. Kid's had a lot of problems - even if he's over them physically, he'll need to get his confidence back. If we can find the real McAllister, we could yet have a player. Perhaps he needs not to be a starter for a while, while he gets his confidence and sharpness. I desperately want him to do well.
  13. McAlister is too light weight and Morias panics too much. I'd like to see what Thor can do. Interesting shout. He had a lovely touch at one point where he lifted the ball over a player's head and collected it on the other side. He looks like an absolute unit, too. Totally solid. If his fitness is there, I'd give him a go. Generally, I thought it still had a touch of pre-season about it, with a couple of our players' touch being a bit rusty. Obika held it up very well at times, but was isolated. Durmus and McAllister lacked sharpness too. However, this stuff will come. The commitment and levels of organisation were very impressive for this stage of the season. Foley was outstanding, the centre halves were brilliant. Tait was probably my MOM. We've still got two of our best players to come back, too.
  14. That feeling when it's August 1st and you're a quarter of the way to matching Hearts' wins for last season.
  15. We could have put this out of sight. Hope we don't regret that.
  16. Oh look, a Livingston player is on the ground again.
  17. Like the look of McGrath; vastly improved on what I saw of him last season. He's done pretty well to retain possession under pressure a couple of times, and he's obviously been given a fairly free role. Defence is looking solid, too, and Foley doesn't seem to suffering at all from his surgery. Overall pretty pleased, I think we are visibly a stronger (in terms of muscle) team than we have been for a while.
  18. Modern surgery is crazy if he's come back from that within a fortnight. Good news, of course.
  19. With or without Foley in, I don't see how you could make the midfield much more imposing with the players we have. Bear in mind the defence is, IMO, a lot more solid-looking now, too. Unless you take McGrath out and put Cammy ahead of Sheron and Foley, but that's surely the mega-negative option that we'll be saving for trips to the ugly sisters.
